Let me first explain about the Playstation 3 Move Bundle and it's technology. When you buy the Move Bundle, it'll come with a Playstation 3 Eye Camera, The Move Controller, a Full Game called Sports Champions, and a Demo Disc. Setting up the Move was simple. All you need to do is plug in the PS3 Eye and the Move Controller onto the USB ports of your PS3, then just press the Playstation button on the Move and you are ready to go. The whole process takes only a 2 minutes.
The Move has a plastic Bulb on top of it. It glows in color, depending on your background. This is because the camera tracks the Color Bulb and detects your Movements. The reason why it changes color depending on your background is because it wants to differentiate your background and the Playstation Move. Let say that you have a lot of Blue Color in the background, the Move will change it's color to red. This technology makes it a lot more accurate compared to the Nintendo Wii-Mote and is called 1:1 motion technology.
What makes the Move unique is that there's a Camera involved, which can be an included function on the games, such as, creating a virtual character in a game with your own picture or using your background as a background in games.
The Bundle comes with a game called Sports Champions. It includes 6 sport games, Table Tennis (Ping Pong), Bocce, Beach Volley Ball, Gladiators, Archery, and a Fresbie game. The accuracy of each game is very good. I had no issues with lag or such. When playing Table Tennis, you could even cut the Ball and make the ball spin. That is how accurate it is. Out of the 6 games in Sports Champions, you will find that only Table Tennis and Gladiators is worth your time. Everything else are quickies that you might not want to stick to for a long time. Certain games in Sports Champions feels like you should use two Moves to play, but with one, it is still good. For example, Archery, you would want to hold one Move as the Bow and one Move as the Arrow. The simulation will feel more real than holding just one Move.
The most disappointing of Sports Champions is that there isn't online play. You can't play this game online with a friend or family. This basically mean that they did not spend enough time to implement it or they just didn't care. In nowadays, every game should have online competition. Don't get me wrong, the game is still fun with a friend or partner playing in the same room. It is still great for parties. However, over all, Sports Champion felt like a Tech Demo without Online play.
No Doubt, the Move is very accurate and it is fun to play with. The price tag is a little too much. $50 for 1 Move and another $30 for the Navigation Controller. If you want 2 Moves, then you'll need to spend another $50. At the end, you'll be spending hundreds of dollars just to play a few games.
Is the Move worth it? Yes, but not right now because there aren't any MUST HAVE games on it yet. Wait till Killzone 3, No More Hereos, Dead Space 2, and etc to come out first. Those are the games that you would want to use the Move on. If you are like me, who enjoys Wii-Sports type of games, then you should get it.
