[QUOTE="MaximusZX"]The delay of Twilight Princess will SERIOUSLY damage Nintendo, both in terms of sales and popularity. Interest in the Gamecube will have petered out after the 2005 holiday season, and with the 360 out and two other next-gen systems on the way, Twilight Princess will have drastically reduced, possibly even pitiful sales. Sure, the hardcore fanboys will still buy it no matter when it comes out, but the rest of us gamers will have already moved on to next-gen games and systems.NeoJoe

This is what bothers me (besides the delay). What is with everybody saying that this game will still not sell as good as if it was released during the holiday season? Anybody who is truly interested in this game or the Zelda series will still get this game when it comes out next year. There is one thing that might hurt and that is it won't help to sell any GameCubes for those who want the game but don't have the system. But even then, you can't go wrong with paying $100 for a GameCube and $50 on Zelda. That, in my opinion, is a far greater deal then spending all the money on these next gen consoles! Also, I am so sick of people saying they are not going to get it now because this will be released in the middle of the next gen console war. First of all, we only know of the Xbox 360 release period and that is holiday 2005. The PS3 and Revolution don't have a time released period here in the U.S. So how is this going to squash sales of the game or drive away people to the next gen consoles? Next, the release of new consoles will not persuade people from buying a game. Would you rather spend $300 to $400 on a new console plus $60 per game or spend $50 on a game for a system you already own? I am calling out all the people who have stated that they aren't going to buy the game because it has been delayed (including you Maximus). Each and every one of you were never really interested in this game in the first place! Man, I feel better now!

I would rather spend more money for a new system that has better games than buy a game for an older, outdated system that I'm not going to play on anymore. And I'm saying that TP won't sell as well in mid-2006 as opposed to the 2005 holiday season because I honestly think it WON'T. There won't be any other Gamecube games coming out around that time. Most gamers will either be playing on the XBox 360 or saving their money for next-gen systems. Interest in the Gamecube will be close to zero by the time May rolls around, especially when there won't be any other good games to keep sales afloat up until that point. Like I said before, the hopeless fanboys will pick up the game no matter when it comes out, but that won't be enough to garner decent sales for a single game released in the very last months of the Gamecube's lifecycle.
