@elheber: It simply means that they've earned more revenue from sales of the PC version. While it was pirated more on the PC it might also have sold more copies, possibly for a higher price per unit and with possibly without the fee to Apple / Google.
@suicidesn0wman: It's possibly to try it out on steam and return it if you don't like it. Effectively, nowadays almost all steam games comes with the ability to try before you buy (or at least try and get your money back)
..."because The Fractured But Whole is being developed internally (The Stick of Truth was made by Obsidian Entertainment)"... My interest in the game just dropped significantly.
@gogoleafs @Mazoch I'm still seeing your all your previous posts.
I agree that you can end up interfering with people ability to express themselves if you make the rules too aggressive. But I also think that the reverse can be true. In the complete absence of rules a lot of people would end up being unable to get a word in. The noise, spam and hostility can drown out an individuals ability to be heard.
In the case of GameSpot. I think the important thing is to set the rules. People who disagree and think that those rules are to strict or not strict enough still have the freedom to look elsewhere.
@gogoleafs No disagreement with anything you're saying however I think there it's important that conditions can be created for everyone.
I think people should be free to be as crazy as they want (as long as they don't otherwise break the law) in a general public space. I believe that Westboro should be allowed to do what they are doing in spite of how despicable they are.
But at the same time I think it's reasonable to set specific rules of conduct based on where you are. I think it would be reasonable to ban Westboro from demonstrating in a graveyard since I think consideration needs to be given to people paying their respects to lost friends and family.
On a website, the people responsible for the web site should have the right to set and enforce the house rules. If I find that I disagree with the rules of how they are enforced I should obviously be free to go else where or start my own site.
@gogoleafs @Mazoch @Derpalon @chimpathon there was some really really bad stuff. TBH based on the other thread I think we're more or less on the same page once you get to the bottom of it all :P
@gogoleafs @Mazoch @SnakeVenom3000 @danusty Hehe gotcha. Thanks for clarifying :) While I celebrate the right to free speech, I also believe that there are limits to how and where you can express yourself freely.
If a teacher wants to send a student to detention for screaming profanities I think that's acceptable.
If a parent want to ground their child for screaming profanities, I'm perfectly fine with that.
If a bar owner wants to make a costumer leave for making personal insults against him or another costumer in his bar... I think that's fair.
If a costumer walks into a supermarket and makes threats to one of the workers there, I think its completely reasonable to kick him out (or all the police).
---
And the same goes for GameSpot. If someone on these forums hurls profanities at one of the staff I think it would be perfectly reasonable to ban the person.
If someone hurled personal insults at one of the staff, I think it would be perfectly reasonable to ban them.
If someone makes threats against a staff members I think it would be very reasonable if GameSpot banned them from the forums.
@gogoleafs @Mazoch @SnakeVenom3000 @danusty I'm not sure exactly what post you're replying to. When you're saying that if they did that.. what's 'that'. And against what principle?
