Does anyone besides me remember back when everyone played Super Mario Bros.? Sure ya do, but do you remember this? You go to your buddy's home, he/she invites you to play a nice friendly game of Mario, you agree to join of course, who wants to go outside after all. You're playing along when suddenly your friend gasps, he/she just watched you do something that they weren't expecting at all. You just took a shoutcut or showed them where a hidden box was and they didn't know about it.
After a week or so passes the friend of yours invites another buddy over and shows them what you showed him and before you know it the whole town knows the secret that you discovered.
I miss that.. it still happens today for me but only with the oldie 'NES Era' games, that's hardly ever happened with any recent 3D games. I wish more modern games had neat little secrets like hidden extra life blocks or a hidden shortcut. Maybe i'm asking too much... maybe everyone also misses these crazy little secrets.. who knows. I just wish developers would go back to their roots some and get inspired by the NES golden age.
