Well, I switched the shot aim to manual and scored 8 goals in the very first game I tried on manual. I think it has to do with the fact I sorta naturally learned how to aim shots because of the fact ive been playing on auto so long. The computer of course answered with their own 6 goals. Horrible goaltending to say the least. Oh yeah and im glad someone enjoyed the title. That's what its there for.

On another note is there a bug when I create a player or something? It seems you can't max out offense defense and altheticism potential.

First of all, change it to manual aim if it isn't already ..

First things first .. always mix up your play, don't just do the same thing over and over again .. so don't just blaze down the ice and shoot everytime, sometimes you need to set up in the zone and pass it around .. wait, and be patient, you'll find an opening .. deke a lot, get around their defensman and break for the net, aim your shot to the top corner and see what happens ..

I find coming from the corner, and shooting high short side works, five hole works a lot too ..

Set up on the point, and when you see one of your players crash the net shoot it high and they will attempt a tip, working a lot of the time .. I find it works best when you're on the powerplay ..

Defense, let your defensmen play defense, use your wingers and centerman for when in your own zone .. constantly poke check at the puck, and use the stick lift a lot to steal the puck (You'll get some penalties playing this way, but take away many of their chances .. also when on the penalty kill, I can get usually one break away per kill) .. don't let the computer pass it around, use L1 and put that stick on the ice, breaking up passes ..

Dive for their stick, knocking the puck away .. if you let the computer stand there for 2-3 seconds in front of your net, he will snipe it top corner everytime .. sometimes you have to take a penalty, don't be afraid ..

You'll get it eventually .. Superstar is even more frustrating because it seems they make every pass ..

Yeah I try to keep a stick on the ice, and control the center or wingman when im on defense. I only had like one or two penalties compared to the computers 7 last game... that goalie was way too good.

on all star the computer takes away the wraparound goal for the most part, and I have no idea what superstar is like.

Another trick I have used is to have either a really good offensive defensiveman on a powerplay or a scorer play defense on the powerplay. That way youll have better shooters which will translate to more point goals. I would look at slap shot power and accuracy when selecting this setup. Although I will say again, even with the fastest team in the league probably and good point shooters I am having a hard time scoring goals right now.

I tried the manual aim, and I didn't get as many goals on manual as I did on auto. Which should be obvious, because the game usually puts shot aim on manual on its own. My theory is if the computer is obviously using auto aim, why would it score better than I am if im using the same setup? Anyway, there must be a trick to the manual because like I said, I had it on there when I first started playing and it didn't really help me.

I mix up alot of slap shots and one timers, but ill admit Im very novice-like when it comes to outdekeing a goalie in this game. I used to score alot of goals even on all-star, its just that the computer has been goaltending alot better recently. Point shots are alot easier when it comes on a powerplay. Alot of times it won't go in, but sometimes you can get a rebound off a blocked shot and bury it. I just get sick of the cheap goals the computer scores. Like theyll score because the goalie doesn't grab the puck when its right in front of them come on. Anyone else notice how the computer seems to have a mastery of dekes too? I never win a shootout!
