International Blog

First of all, today is your last chance to vote in the Class of 2005 TV.com superlatives. I'd like to thank everyone who's voted. :) Tomorrow I'll release the results. Today I'm doing a round-up of things I'm interested in other countries. It's... The International Blog! Finland: Apparently, Conan O'Brien looks just like Finnish President Tarja Halonen. And she's a woman. Conan sometimes makes fun of this on his show, and he's become extremely popular in Finland. He recently ran a mock re-election ad for Tarja who, ironically, has been called the "anti-American candidate." Australia: CNNNN is an Australian series that parodies American news networks like CNN and Fox News. Here's an example of their stories: "CNNNN discovers Americans support war on Kyrgyzstan, 'wherever it may be." It's sort of like the Daily Show. Check out their website, and while you're at it take a look at The Onion. Canada: Oh Canada. I stumbled upon a website of Canadian jokes, that are relatively funny. Click over to "computers" and read the one about the Saskatchewan virus. That's it for today. Don't forget to stop by tomorrow for the 2005 Class of TV.com Superlatives!
