Mikang11 Blog

Status of my life.

It is yet again time for me to post a blog. It is almost the end of the year for us all and therefore I have decided that this will be the last blog from me this year. This blog will be about a status of my life.

What am I playing?: Final Fantasy XII, Psychonauts (and Brothers in arms?). Yesterday I installed this on my pc since I haven't been able to finish it yet. Not because it is hard but I really don't think it is fun.

What am I watching?: The 5. season of Scrubs. I really love that tv-serie and I find it incredible funny. The reason why I am buying it is that the later seasons have not been showed here in Denmark.

What amI reading?: Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. I am over halfway through and it is very exciting and I will probably finish that in the next couple of weeks.

What am I working on?: An English paper about the novella "of Mice and Men". It needs to be done the same day we begin at the school which is on next Thursday. The book is good but the assignment sucks.

What else? I haven't been posting for about 2 months and a lot have happened since on this site with all the Gerstmann stuff but everyone is probably tired about hearing it. I just want to say that I have been observing the situation in shock. I still got my subscription on this site and I hope I will keep it, but by now it can easily be cancelled. Anyways GameSpot is still my favorite game site and I'll keep visiting it daily in the next year.

To anyone reading this, a happy New Year and I will be posting a blog next year :). Bye everyone.

Gaming and other stuff!

It has been a busy month and a half since my last blog. I have tried to put as many hours of gaming between my girlfriend visits and homework, but the days just seem to be way too short. Right now I am playing Guitar Hero and God of War on my ps2. I bought God of War a month ago and I belief that I'm at the very end of that game but just hasn't finished it yet, I'll probably soon do that. Other than that it is a really cool game. It's really violent and bloody and I really like Kratos.

Lately I have been playing with the thought about buying an xbox360 since they are so cheap at the moment but I'm not going to in some time since I don't have the time to play so I'll rather wait even though their are soon coming some really great games on the xbox that I really want to play, like Mass Effect and GTA IV.

I have also bought Neverwinter Nights 2: The Mask of the Betrayer, which is the first exp. to NWN2. I haven't really played it a lot but will probably soon pull myself together, since I'm sure that it is awesome game, and a 8.0 review from gamespot is alright for an exp. and the things there is wrong with the game seems to be the same problems as in the original NWN2 and I played through that and loved it.

On a completely different subject I will like to comment on the news about EA buying Bioware. I really love Bioware for everything they have ever put out and Bioware has been my favorite game developer. When I first heard about the news it really made me angry. I'm not very fond of EA, and I think that they are just putting as many games out as they can, and don't care if the game is half-done if just it has a great title. But some days has past since I first heard the news and I am beginning to accept the deal. EA has stated that they want to change and start to make "real" games. I think it's a good thing for Bioware to have a big company as EA behind them as long that Bioware gets to run their games as they want. Right now I'm going to trust the people at Bioware that they will still be making the games I love.

This has become a fairly long blog from me but it has also been a while. Now I will try to complete God of War.

FFX completed

Yesterday I finally killed of the final boss in FFX, and all I needed to do was to grow a few lvl's and down he went. After the final summoning you are going to fight against your own summonings and then Yu Yevon, but those two boss fights were just stupid. I don't know if this is only in the European version, but you couldn't die. All my characters had auto-life on them which made them come back alive every time they died.

The story in the end was great, but pretty sad, but I Think it will have a happier ending in FFX-2 which I'll probably will be buying at some point. The voice-over in the game was not as great as I hoped it would, and because of some dull moments in the game, I will not give it a 10 rating, but 9,5 from me, for a great game with a fine story that almost made me cry :P, but only almost.

Now I'll move over to Metal Gear Solid, and so far it looks all right, and is beginning to get used to the controls. I will be bloging about it later.

Anything and nothing

Hallo... It's been a while since my last blog post here at gamespot, and it's not because I got a busy schedule, I'm just so goddamn lazy.

What had happened since my last blog post?... Well at the beginning of this month I was on a 2 week trip to Italy, with my lovely girlfriend and her parents. We had the most incredible whether and lived in a beautiful city not far from Toscana. It was actually nice to get a short break from gaming.

For my birthday I received Metal Gear Solid 3 for my ps2 and I have only played through the first mission or so. Compared to MGS 2 that I have for my PC, I actually find this a lot harder but maybe that's only because I haven't played more than an hour or 2. Also this Monday I bought Guitar Hero which I have played the most of this week, it's a lot of fun and also pretty hard. Other than that I have played Final Fantasy X, and I'm at the final boss, the final summoning and I have tried so many times to kill him butI just can't. I always die when he is at the last form. So if anyone who has completed FFX and got some great tips on how to kill him they are more than welcome to post a comment.

But I got to go and visit my girlfriend, and I promise that it will go as long before my next blog post.

Thank you for gaming

Today I watched the movie Thank You for Smokingwhich was very fun and well thought through. The movie debated both against and for smoking with one of the main subjects being to prevent children from smoking. One argument for not banning cigarettes was that it isn't the companies or the government to decide who should be allowed to smoke, both it is the parent of the children who needs to set boundaries for their kids. This made me think about the problems with violent games.

I have to agree. It can't be right that just because some stupid parents let their children play violent games, it has to be a problem for the whole gaming industry. Parents need to have an interest in what their kids are doing, and that is the only way to prevent the kids from being affected in a wrong way.

Well another subject. Still trying to get through Final Fantasy X. It's a really great game and I love the twist in the middle of the game, andI like the voice in the game especially the voice of Tidus, don't like the voice of Yuna so much. I have been playing through just below 30 hours.

This upcoming week: The day after tomorrow I'm going to an exam in German, uh I hate the language, not to insult Germans. My birthday is on Wednesday, and I'm 20 already :) looking forward to that. And I guess that is all I'm doing this upcoming week beside gaming FFX and reading my book. :)

The last generation!

Finally I'm a part of the last generation...

In many years I have only been playing games on my PC, but I have just got and brand new PS2, yes I said PS2 not 3.... The reason I bought a PS2 is that it was cheap and it has dozens of games that I want to play. So far I have bought Bully, Shadow of the Colossus and Final Fantasy X. I have already completed Bully and SotC.

I gave Bully 9.1 since I think the game is really cool. A milder GTA game set in a college school with the same kind of humour. The story in game was a little short but there are a lot of collectible things in the game.

SotC I gave 9.5 this game is really awesome, and I recommend it to everyone. The game is a little slow-paced since your are only fighting 16 bosses and nothing else. The story is actuarially surprisingly good and deep at least in the end.

And this Monday I started on FFX been playing for about 10 hours and this is really awesome so far. Loving the lvl up system and the voice-acting, and looking forward to play some more.

A clean start

Yes I have deleted all my blog... don't know why, but I have. I'm starting from the beginning by righting a blog about my self.

I'm 19 years old and only a couple of months from the 20th. I don't know exactly when I started playing games, but I know how. I remember when I was fairly young my parents bought a Sega Master system, I believe it was called, for me. The Sega was installed with a version of Alex the kid, which I enjoyed quiet a lot.

The first game I actually bought my self was Shinobi also for my Sega. I played my Sega a lot in the first 2 years, but after that they stopped making game for that consol, so I begged and begged for the next gens consol but I didn't get it. So after that I stopped playing. It was first long time after that I got my own pc, were my first game was "Lands of Lords: Guardian of destiny", which just sucked, at that point I weren't any hardcore player. My budget was low at that age so I usually just played pirate-copies games.

It's is only in last year or 2 I have really getting into gaming. The reason is mostly because of gamespot that I found out that there was a lot more to gaming than just playing... Well that about it about my gaming experience.

And by the way I'm Danish and that is probably why I agent spelling every word right and having some grammar errors. I hope it aren't too bad ;)
