@Vraeth struggling to see which part of my comment you're referring to... my English teacher told me to never start a sentence with 'because' otherwise the sentence has no context. Anyway trolling aside my keyboard warrior friend: remove scores altogether, bring back all decimals for scoring or don't relate to another title in a "this outdoes that" way and score it the same.
Starting to think GS does this on purpose to generate hype/controversy recently... seen in on many games now. I can just imagine the internal note to editors "Hi all, please take reviewer score -0.5 just for the sake of it."
@mattcake @Milloman Ok... first of all, a game that's given 85% is not better than 85% of everything else :-) the only thing the rating should be relative to is 0 (awful, nothing good about the game) and 100 (perfect, cannot be improved in any way). However, the reviewer made a direct comparison to another game which got 8.5, stating that in most ways, this was at least better, then gave it an 8.5. So in all honesty, the thing that bugs me is not the fact that this got an 8.5, but that the reviewer kind of set himself up for a fool by making those statements then scoring it the same as borderlands.
And to the perfect 10 comment... agreed actually, but whoever said bring back the decimals between 0.0 and 0.5 and 0.5 and 1.0 hit the nail on the head. Why did that stop happening?
Finally... whoever said that GS should scrap it's scores, I agree, best idea of all.
So basically, its a 9.0 then. " it does do almost everything better"... same score as Borderlands... i didnt listen hard enough in Maths. Makes no sense GS.
