I had a similar bug on my vista system when i first got it. I realized the times it was cutting out was when didnt have something making noise on either side of me... It was stuck in 7.1 surround mode when I just had the 2 speakers. I had to go download the audio drivers from the companies website. After that it worked fine.

Realtek was where I went btw.

As far as I have researched I cannot find a fix to make Battle for Middle Earth 2 work. It will load the splash screen, but it freezes at that point. I set it to compatability mode to no avail, I downloaded new patches and still no luck. Is it impossible to get Vista home premium 32 to play this game? I love vista since it seems to play my othergames seamlessly, but I just cant figure out this one. I installed it on my old XP system and it works fine, so its not disk related.

I'm running Vista home premium 32 and I haven't had any issues with CoH, the only game I cant get to work is Battle for Middle Earth 2. Anyone been able to get it to run on 32? if so please help! =)

The games I play on vista home premium so far include WC3 RoC and TFT, CoH, Titan quest, Oblivion, and Civ 4. I haven't had any issues with these games other than titan quest crashing like a drunken hobo on a unicycle.

PS. I've tried compatibility mode, and getting new patches...

Hi, I have a PC that runs Vista 32bit. I didn't bother to read through all of the posts so I'm sorry if its been discussed already.

I am unable to get Battle for Middle Earth 2 and its expansion to play. It installs properly, but when starting the game a splash screen pops up and it just hangs there for a minute and then it pops up saying the program is not responding. Anyone know how to fix it? I tried running it in compatibility mode to no avail.

My specs:

OS: Vista 32bit

Processor: Intel quad core 2.9ghz overclocked to 3.6

Ram: 2GB 1gb x 2 ddr2

Video: 2 x 8800GTX Nvidia cards in SLI config

I dunno what other info you guys need.. its a top of the line system other than my 2gig memory.

I can run most all of my games without issues, but I bought the triple pack of BFME2/1 only to find vista has issues with it. For reference my system runs the following games without issues. Civ 4, WC 3, Oblivion, Titan quest (Frequent crashes, but it works), and Company of Heroes. I can run all of these games on maximum settings without any issues so i doubt its hardware related.
