There are much more good RPGs for PS2, but you should proceed with caution, some RPGs have a steep learning curve and punishing difficulty at times(like Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria).

Tales of Symphonia is a must-have, an excellent RPG. Fire Emblem and Viewtiful Joe are great too.

FF9 for PS1 and FF10 for PS2 are good choices to start, and FF7 if you do not care about graphics
