[QUOTE="robflores370"][QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="robflores370"]so now WOW broke the entertainment record in dollars in one day?...hmm i did not know that .....and as far as your analogy goes...it stinks.....Vandalvideo
Mmm, ad hominem, the last resort for someone who has nothing left to say.http://www.gamespot.com/news/6180380.html?tag=result;title;8
Xbox 360-exclusive Halo 3 made $170 million on its first day on sale in the US alone, and also broke Australian sales records according to figures released down under. Now Bungie has one more reason to celebrate, as week-one sales have clocked in at a rather reasonable $300 million worldwide.
Halo 3, which is the fastest-selling game ever, is being billed by Microsoft as "one of the most successful entertainment properties in history." The company released a statement saying that initial figures from retailers are also showing the Halo effect having an influence on console purchasing--Xbox 360 sales have more than doubled since the game's release.
Has a PC game done that in one week?....if it has i stand corrected....why did a console game do this?...because its popular...jeez simple really
Once again, http://www.gamedaily.com/articles/features/estimate-halo-3-sells-234-million-units-on-day-one/70978/?biz=1 Halo 3 sold 2.3 million copies in its first day, which half-life 2 matched. Profit margins DO NOT equal popularity. The Oxford dictionary defines popularity as a group of individuals. IE, units sold. In this instance, Half-life 2 matches Halo 3. Not toeven mntion the giant that is WoW, which also sold that much in its first day alone. Profit margins have little to NOTHING to do with popularity. You are ignoring the ammount sold. WoW grosses more in one month than Halo 3 will in a year.also i think wow is more popular then halo
