RROD is the best move MS ever made. They sold 10 million X360s because they launched a defective console early. X360 wouldn't even be a consideration this generation had they done like Nintendo and Sony and waited until the system was ready. I think what will really hurt is next generation. Who is going to be first to buy an Xbox next time? I won't, infact I'm so disgusted that MS would launch a defective console on consumers so they can buy marketshare that I sold my X360 and got a PS3. Most people aren't like me though, most lemmings defend them saying it's okay. Whatever..EmperorSupreme

yeah, I'm also pretty sure they did that on purpose, a company like microsoft has enough resources to find and resolve issues like these before it's too late, if they wanted to

[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="robflores370"]And you are ignoring record sales...."fastest selling game ever".....Why did it sell so fast?....why is it the fastest selling?hmmm you figure it outrobflores370

Let me put this into perspective for you. Unit sold: Half -Life 2 matches it on the first day. Profit margins: WoW easily grosses more than Halo 3 can dream of. So what does this tell us? PC gaming is just as popular.

Fastest selling game in history what does that tell us?....people lining up to buy launch day 360's, PS3s, wii's are still hard to come by, long lines and midnight launches for games like gears of war, halo 2 and 3 and probably MGS4...consoles seem pretty damn popular dont they?

no one here is sayng they arent, but pc is just as popular, just because pc gamers dont like to waste their time forming line outside stores dosent proof that pc games sell anyless as you have already been proven. halo as also the most advertised game on the history of gaming, how many millions do you think M$ spent on halo 3 ads? how about how many millions vavle spent? should we estimate who accuatly made more money?

[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="robflores370"]so now WOW broke the entertainment record in dollars in one day?...hmm i did not know that .....and as far as your analogy goes...it stinks.....Vandalvideo

Mmm, ad hominem, the last resort for someone who has nothing left to say.

http://www.gamespot.com/news/6180380.html?tag=result;title;8

Xbox 360-exclusive Halo 3 made $170 million on its first day on sale in the US alone, and also broke Australian sales records according to figures released down under. Now Bungie has one more reason to celebrate, as week-one sales have clocked in at a rather reasonable $300 million worldwide.

Halo 3, which is the fastest-selling game ever, is being billed by Microsoft as "one of the most successful entertainment properties in history." The company released a statement saying that initial figures from retailers are also showing the Halo effect having an influence on console purchasing--Xbox 360 sales have more than doubled since the game's release.

Has a PC game done that in one week?....if it has i stand corrected....why did a console game do this?...because its popular...jeez simple really

Once again, http://www.gamedaily.com/articles/features/estimate-halo-3-sells-234-million-units-on-day-one/70978/?biz=1 Halo 3 sold 2.3 million copies in its first day, which half-life 2 matched. Profit margins DO NOT equal popularity. The Oxford dictionary defines popularity as a group of individuals. IE, units sold. In this instance, Half-life 2 matches Halo 3. Not toeven mntion the giant that is WoW, which also sold that much in its first day alone. Profit margins have little to NOTHING to do with popularity. You are ignoring the ammount sold. WoW grosses more in one month than Halo 3 will in a year.

also i think wow is more popular then halo

[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="robflores370"]now you're comparing cars?...not the same thing....you lost.....so i take it the console game is the lambourgini and the pc game is the chrysler right?....you fail againrobflores370

its called an analogy. Its meant to show the similarity between events, to show you're flippin wrong. Popularity, as defined by the OXFORD DICTIONARY, which is the impromptu standard for the english language, is "liked or admired by many or by a particular group", which has nothing to do with profit margins. Its all about ammount sold. Half-Life 2 matches Halo 3 in ammount sold on the first day. However, if you want to take about profit margins, lets talk WoW, which SPANKS Halo 3 to no ends.

so now WOW broke the entertainment record in dollars in one day?...hmm i did not know that .....and as far as your analogy goes...it stinks.....

it still makes much more money then halo ever will, so by your logic, profit=popularity, WoW>>>>>>>>>>>> Halo

considering that wow still has 9million user database(last time i checked) payng 15,00$ per mounth, on the turn of each money it makes around 135m dollars on the day those people get billed,if the userbase incressed it might even get more close them that, also notice that its also 135m

I bought a amazing $2k LCD two years ago, it looked awsome on display at Best Buy. When I got home, I pluged it in, sat on my couch and was ready to watch some amazing television. However, the remote control was so crptic... it had at least 30 buttons, and they had all kinds of numbers and phrases like "video input". I was like WootTheF? Anyways, I recognized the power button... but every time I hit it, my TV would stay off... and oddly, the VCR light kept blinking. Srsly, who has time to learn how to use this thing.rimnet00

what this has to do with pc gaming at all?

[QUOTE="robflores370"]The argument was concerning 170 million dollars in one day.....not 2.3 million copies....you lose...you fail....there is no practically or almost...get off your high horse and admit you lostVandalvideo
You were adressing popularity. Whats more popular hmmm? A lambourgini that sells 5 of them at 20 million each, or 70K Chryslers are 30K each? Jeee I wonder, THE CHRYSLER. Half-Life 2 matched Halo 3 in copies sold on the first day, IE, popularity. Admit yuo're wrong, you're just digging your hole deeper.

he wannts to talk about millions made and profit made by day, just bring world of warcraft to the table, it stomps the whole Halo franchise alone, but i guess hes going to whine about it sayng wow sucks and people that play it have no life =p

[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="robflores370"]again...virtually does not equal....thats like saying the colts almost won the super bowl...either it did or didnt....besides we were talking about 170 million dollars...you failed twice.....and as far as your proof goes...its more like standards of rhetoric in collegate level of BS...opinion does not equal factrobflores370

For all intents and purposes, its practically the same. Besides, 170 million dollars has nothing tod o with popularity. its skewed by the legendary edition. It sold 2.3 million copies, period. GOt it? Good. Half-Life 2 practically matched that, you're wrong, go home. I proved you wrong,

you proved nothing...and 170 million dollars has everything to do with popularity , those legendary editions wouldn't have sold if the game wasnt popular..right? right, you are wrong....i've proven you wrong, practically the same by whose standards, yours?..you are nobody....

erm there are lots of pc games that gain an special edition if they sell well, halo is by no means unique on that matter
