I realize this is thread necromancy, and I apologize for it, but it was the only vaguely valid search result that came up when searching for my problem, and I figured I'd add an answer to the thread for others who may have similar issues.

If running the "Search Everywhere" opens up your browser and doesn't seem to work, you may have Google Desktop installed and not running. Run that, or uninstall it, to restore functionality.

Gabriel (Gabe) from PA says it's true, and the news should be breaking soon. I have no reason to doubt PA's folk.

This is a shame. And I predict (easy prediction) Gamespot is going to get a LOT of flak for this.

I just bought the PC version of Gears of War. It's a... mediocre game at best, but I would like to sign up for Live. Mostly because I'll probably be getting other Live enabled games in the future, and I'd like to give co-op Gears a whirl at least.

Somehow, "Moleculor" doesn't pass their offensiveness filter.

I've tried calling their support line once, and got some foreigners who were very VERY obviously just reading from a script, with lines such as "The System Will Not Allow Us To Do Anything" which just makes them sound like they're all hooked into the Live system and being used as puppets ala some sort of Matrix-esque power generation thing. What, has Live suddenly achieved sentience, and "It Is The Master Now"?

So, does anyone know of a way of getting ACTUAL support for Live? I've been using this name for a decade now, and don't want to have to give it up for some overzealous filtering system.
