Now Playing - The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Today, I've spent at least 11 hours in the latest world that Bethesda has created for us to delve in: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. A game hasn't gripped my attention quite like this in some time. The sheer size of this title alone, is enough to impress. But it's what Bethesda puts into the title that truly makes it shine. I just wanted to give some props out to Bethesda, for staying true to their RPG formulas. For not watering down their mechanics, for leaving great puzzles in their game, for not tacking on useless multiplayer, for still making RPGs absolutely epic, for still having enough meat in their $60 title to grant months, upon months of play. For NOT pulling a BioWare. For not whoring out your series. (Sure, Horse armor was a blunder, don't get me wrong) Cheers, Bethesda. You've shown that there can still be a core RPG experience in today's watered down, multiplayer loving, and hand holding generation. I commend you for still being the king of RPGs and overall world design, for creating your own world inside a disc for the player to fully enjoy, for perfectly balancing your lore with the basic storyline you are trying to convey. Please don't ever stop defining the genre of open world, western role playing games.
