Ok, if someone gave me the director´s chair I would say:

Metal Gear Solid part 1 or 2 - if 2 then i would give Raiden a small rolle and rather focus on Snake

GTA Vice City or San Andreas - Tough to think of a good story which also combines core elements of the games.. f.e. stealing and driving cars, and the music.

GTA 4 or the others dont fit that much, because they lack off a unique setting.

Wing Commander 4 or Privateer 2 - Everyone who played those games knows, there would be little work to do. The script and the Cast (maybe little bit to old now) have already been introduced in these games. Great stories and great characters. The story of WC4 can compete with any of the newer science fiction movies. Id rather watch one of them then another story of what happened before Luke Skywalker was born.

Other games like Devil May Cry or Mario, or Kirby (just a few that were mentioned in earlier posts)... i dont think they would make good movies, because these games deliver pure gameplay, the corresponding stories are forgettable... or does someone want to watch 100 min of demons beeing slaughtered?

Would be great if there was something like an opensource-steam or xlive, one that works with many different networks.. like mutlimessengers.

But one thing for sure.. you shouldnt be forced to install it to play games, like steam forces you.
