In my family, violent video games WERE family time. My dad, my brother, and I spent hundreds of happy, laughter-filled hours playing Goldeneye and Perfect Dark together. Those family memories are much more valuable to me than anything that ever happened in a restaurant.
Alright. I agree. Duke Nukem is not sexist. It disparages both men and women. It degrades universally. It insults all facets of humanity. It is all around rotten. That is a defense of it?
So, essentially, the argument is that since the game is generally bad, you can't pick on it for being bad in anyone one area? If an artwork degrades everyone, you can't call it out for degrading particular people?
So... The game isn't sexist because it's bad all around? Because the game objectifies everyone and everything, its objectification of women is therefore okay? Am I following the logic here?
