For everything a PC doesn't do (or do well) theres Linux. Windows can run everything a mac can and more and Linux will always be best at dedicated processes (i.e. servers) plus both use the same hardware, are easy to fix, and if you get the right "protection" or if your not an idiot, it will run fine. As far as reliability goes, all 3 os's work stable, tough may occasionally encounter a few errors or "illegal operations" As far as Vista goes, it still has some work to, and the only "main" improvement will be DX10, everything else, with the right modifications, you can get on XP. On a final note, why bicker about who did what first? as long as its a feature proven to be used and work it dosnt matter. Really the only thing mac has over windows is its so proprietary that that actually helps keep it safe :)
