JVC X'EYE? (but the name IS in all uppercase...)

So, am I the only person who didn't know that JVC made a Gen/CD combo unit? Probably, but in case I'm not, I'll share some info with you.

The X'EYE is the bastard offspring of JVC. This abomination only exists because Sega asked JVC to make the sound chip for the Sega CD and JVC wanted a piece of the action. Apparently JVC was the only one who wanted any action associated with the X'EYE, as it sold very poorly, and it was discontinued very quickly. It retailed for $499.99 in 1994, so I wonder why it didn't sell...

Now for the fun part. I was in the Goodwill yesterday and saw a console in a plastic bag. All I could make uot with clarity was the Gen controller, so I asked if I could take a look at it. What I found, however, boggled the mind. I looked upon it with a stupified look on my face, and told the guy I would take it. The $6.99 price tag had something to do with it. I got it home, looked it up online, and found that I had a rare console on my hands. Cool beans! (I know, fruity as hell, but they wont let us swear...)

This console is actually pretty nice. It has a/v inputs on the back, so the picture and sound are crystal clear. What else could I possibly ask for? Compatibility with the 32X, you might ask? Sure, just don't try to open the CD tray while that beast is plugged in. (The 32X hangs over the CD tray a bit.)

So this is my latest find, and I think I did pretty good with it. I think I may even put the Genesis away and use this to play Genesis games. Maybe...
