What is up guys I have finally gotten another fit of stuff to write about. January has been a thankfully lazy month for me and I wasn't really keeping track of a whole lot of stuff that's been going on so I'm not sure if I can say a whole lot. I did get the first First Viewing up for this year though, a cover on Ramayana: The Epic.
If you want to see what I have to think about the movie, here is my series of reactions: http://www.viddler.com/v/706ef1b6
And if you want to just see the movie for yourself: http://www.hulu.com/watch/311372/ramayana-the-epic
So for a series of random stuff, I remember hearing that Microsoft doesn't really care about exclusives. It stinks to hear that they actually feel this way, but at the same time I could kind of feel it coming. Back when the Xbox 360 was getting a ton of exclusive content it kind of left some people like me thinking that it would continue to be this way throughout the entire gen. We thought Mass Effect wouldn't go to the Playstation 3 and it did. We also thought Rare would be encouraged to make a series of sequels to games like Perfect Dark and Banjo-Kazooie or even make a franchise out of Kameo if anybody remembers that game, but instead it's just Kinect Sport for them from now on. I know most people thought Blue Dragon would get more sequels instead of getting spin-offs on the DS, I was way more hopeful for a Lost Odyssey sequel though and Mistwalker obviously isn't dedicated to doing anything on the HD twins it would seem. And as it shows, none of that has come to pass even though Microsoft does have a few franchises going like Gears, Fable, Halo, and Forza.
I don't know if it exactly helps anybody to know that now they're also apparently fully focused on working for Kinect and I don't know if they have anything else planned outside of just that. So I'm not sure if this means that they are going to try and go the whole Wii route with the next system or if they're going to go so focused on the casual gaming market that it might irritate its previous owners. I'm pretty sure Halo, Gears and Forza will be continued at this point though I have a feeling that Fable might be discontinued for some reason. Well I guess now I'll have to wait until next gen to see if I'm still willing to support Microsoft's console endeavors or if I can just get the same games elsewhere.
On the gaming front, not much has gone up since like in the typical January not much usually gets released with the exception of maybe one or two somewhat big names. I did play my first game for this year though, AMY. Yeah every year I end up looking at a game and end up thinking, "Wow this game got such bad reviews I have got to see how bad it is for myself." I played the demo and it didn't seem bad so I got the full game. I mean I've played Escape from Bug Island and I think it got the same ratings as this and I actually liked the game along with Alone in the Dark and Cursed Mountain so I thought why not take the dive? I have been playing it on hard and I actually was enjoying this game up until Chapter 4. It's at this point where the game starts to get rather impossible and tedious to accomplish. I'm probably still going to try and beat it though. In general this is probably only worth it if you're a dedicated diehard survival horror fan who plays everything in the genre. Otherwise if you just want a good game, just pick up SIREN: Bloodcurse instead on PSN.
Time to cram in a few more things I'm a bit lazy to elaborate on:
That actually reminds me of this much, I have gotten a PSN account working and if anyone wants to add me, feel free to look up the username Myviewing. I want it to be tomorrow already, I want to get Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Soulcalibur V already. Red Tails is a pretty cool movie. I'm really bored and don't know how to continue going on. Writing is fun and tedious at the same time. There you go.
That's the news from Myviewing as of January 30, 2012.
