So last weekend my xbox360 died on me. I am officially sad seeing as this was the weekend before christmas.

now i am looking to replace it, and instead of spending 94 dollars on a repair (which is completely obnoxious by the way) I'm thinking about just buying a completely new console.

now I thought i'd buy an arcade console, seeing as i already have a hard drive. So then i thought, "instead of spending money on a completely new one, look for one on ebay". so i looked, and i found something that confused me.

on a picture, it showed an "hdmi" port under the normal video/audio plugin. and on my old console, that doesn't even exist! So i'm just wondering, is it possible for me to get an xbox 360 without the normal video/audio, and will i be stuck with only hdmi?

is there a console with "only hdmi"?

and what the heck is hdmi anyways?

so i would like to ask all of your opinons on something...I have no idea what I should buy - the PS3 or the Wii

Both have a lot of games I want, and both are pretty cool.

Wii

Positives : Zelda! Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time on same system, not to mention wind waker! Also, it has potential to be really cool. and - MORE ZELDA...but in like a billion years.

Negatives : Small game list. only about 7 (tops) i would buy at this point, and for the future, there really isn't anything on the horizon i'm looking forward too.

PS3 :

Positives : Lots of games, especially FFXIII and LittleBigPlanet. Also MGS4 and others. Tons of potential, and bluray! Lots of games coming up.

Negatives : So damn expensive. Hard drive is a major issue (ie games take up too much space) and NO BACKWARDS COMPATABILITY! so thats lame.

opinions? thoughts?

i would like to say taht it was the better system - but i'd be lying. The honest to god reason taht i bought the 360 was because of two things - elder scrolls 4 and halo 3!

i'm also going to get a ps3 in a week - its not about the system its about the games!
