Heh, coming from the same guy who claimed he was leaving for good, among other lies....I wonder how you'd use a consensus like this for "educational purposes" as well....

Anyway, I merely own a Disney 2DS and a Zelda 3DS XL (after it gets repaired from being "new" out of the box). Why the prejudice against Nintendo hand-helds?

I don't plan on making the mistake to get a Wii U; I may get a Wii instead one day down the line, or even a Game Cube. They are a lot more profitable and rewarding, even if they aren't supported anymore.

The N64 has my most memorable experiences and i started with the NES. Sure it did not have a whole lot of great games but the ones it did have make up for that because they where game changers. Once the N64 came out I had no reason to play psx, also mine broke just after the N64 came out. I really like the SNES but back then I did not enjoy those rpg's like I do now.

This is funny. I can't remember but....maybe five games, first party titles at that, that were actually worth remembering and playing on the N64 vs. the countless franchises and games on the PS1. Let's not pretend that the PS1 didn't completely obliterate the N64. The N64 was merely what the Dream Cast was to Sega - poorly executed and unexplored potential.

So....how many of you will actually get suckered in by this spam bot's obvious trolling? Let's see how many victims have there been so far, and will be in the near future.....only time will tell.

Does the wii u game encompass the 3 games that came before it(DS, WII and 3ds), in terms of gameplay elements?

They are ALL one in the same. Nothing remotely significant stands out about either of them. It's the same pathetically rehashed and remedial platforming game play, audio with different instruments, and archaic "Your princess is in another castle!" Mario game "story". This is THE series of games that defines getting milked more than a cow's udders.

So if I was just to play the Wii U version I wouldn't be missing out on anything?

The Wii U version is the definitive version, however. It basically takes the extremely minimal progression, if any, from the other NSMB games and wraps it up into the most visually impressive NSMB game with HD paint. So, yes; if you're to "invest" in a NSMB game, the Wii U one is the one to get.

They all still suffer from the same old Mario clichés anyway - from whoring the Super Leaf/Tanooki Suit, to the usual classic Mario game nods here and there. Basically, don't expect anything to truly be "new". As for missing out on anything with the Wii U version, you're not. It's basically a play-by-play summation of the same remixed and stale formula you would find in the other NSMB games.

nintendo is VERY disappointing read up! this crap is just plain bad news

Hi, Captain. How does it feel to be so incredibly obvious?

Nintendo could build an entirely new infrastructure to support the old hardware, but that would just be stupid.

It would be just as stupid as them making countless numbers of DS and Wii games compatible with the network they are about to shut down. They never had the technological capacity and fortitude to be prepared for the unknown; there's nothing that justifies their fabled forgiveness for leaving said games out in the cold when it comes to their online capabilities. It's a double-edged sword they crafted for themselves.

Eh, Nintendo has ALWAYS been about making the snotty nosed kids, soccer moms, and soccer dads orgasm with their adolescent themes. They were never ballsy enough to venture down the mature road. If you want a realistically mature theme and mature content, Sony and Micro got you. I would've thought that this has been a well known fact for the ages.

I'm 1337 status; I'm not holding my breath for any announcement they are supposedly having on the 13th....all I recall them saying is that they are going to take orders for the physical rewards again on that date, you know - the same crappy junk that you could also find at a garage sale. As for the announcements for the rewards for 1337 status, that usually comes in the middle of the year. I'm not holding my breath for those either.
