I think the wii should have TONS of RTS games on it. The controls would be good, except I would have move be the B trigger and the selecting an action to the minus or plus buttons. The nunchuck would make it more clunky in my opinion.
I don't think Left 4 Dead has the best engine or mechanics for an MMOFPS, let alone a zombie shooter. KHAndAnime
We dont care about that, we were just thinking of things that would be awesome. We would make our own engine specially for the game (maybe).
I have the same problem, my friend has a 360 and a good gaming PC and he HATES the wii. I guess he just doesnt go for games not rated M for gore and violence. I play wii every chance I get. Be loud and proud about owning a wii. that is what i do.
PS: the wii is the most fun gaming system i have ever played on, it is more immersive and I love that about a system, so again, be proud to own and play wii.
Me and my friend were trying to think of the most amazing game that will never come out, and we started thinking up an amazing idea... LEFT 4 DEAD ONLINE! It would be an MMORPS (Massivly Multiplayer Online Role Playing Shooter) that would include most of the team work aspect of L4D and the specials from L4D and other similarities.
Game Mechanics:
- Teams: This game would revolve around the concept of teams/clans/armies ranging from 3 to 9 people.
- Bases: Each team would have a base that they would design upon forming. The base would have traps (see Sniper/Stalker class below), defences, and barriers to keep zombies out.
- Supplies: Since this game takes place in the Zombie Apocolypse, resources are scarce and valuable. Each team would have to explore to find guns, ammo, food, water, medicine, metal, cloth, and wood.
- Guns: Guns would be formed from individual parts found in the surrounding environment. Each part would have advantages and disadvanteges. Guns would be made up of 3-4 parts: Barrel, which decides what type of ammo it fires (in turn it also decides the type of gun it is ie. assult rife, sniper, etc), Clip, this would decide the reload rate and the amount of ammo the gun can hold (each player can hold 5 clips and the clip in the gun at once), Shoulder: this would determine the recoil ammount of each gun (shotgun shoulders would be the best at reducing recoil), and scope, which is optional.
- Wars: Clans/teams would fight over resources and would frequently quarrel ensuring no dull moments between zombie encounters.
- Trading: Clans/teams would also be able to trade resources instead of fighting, ensuring more in depth economic gameplay.
- NCPs: Trading could also be performed with NCPs (Non playable characters) that would be scattered about the map. There would be a special group of NCPs from a military group trying to wipe out the infection in that area. These NCPs would be hostile to you only if you get close to them or get inside their base, which they would guard all day. (Special Items would be inside that base, for brave and skilled players to retrieve)
- Zombies: If a player dies he will become a special infected from the L4D series (hunter, boomer, etc.). In order to be turned back, that player would have to complete certain quests, or kill a certain amount of players/NCPs (players would have to be from a different clan/team than the player controlling the zombie). If you die as a zombie, you will be respawn as a different infected untill the above requirements would be accomplished.
Classes:
There would be 4 main classes, listed below.
- Soldier: This class would be the basic offence of the game, good with assult rifles. This class would be the "tank" of the group, meaning he (or she) would be able to deal massive damage, while also absorbing most of the damage of the team. This class would have perks that would boost relod times, damage, and other things.
- Sniper/Stalker: This class would be the sniper class, obviously good with sniper rifles and slight advantage with pistols. This class would be able to make traps and sneak around zombies using perks such as scent reduction, thermal cloaking, and accuracy boosts. This class would also do the most DPS (Damage Per Shot).
- Engineer: This would be the most sought after classes for clans and teams due to the ability to be good with shotguns and be able to repair guns and the base along with the ability to make machines inside the base for making life easier for that team (bullet reloader and ammo dispenser and others). This class also makes defensive barriers and other defensive items for the base.
- Medic: This class would be the best with the sub-machine guns and pistols. This class would also be an essencial for each team due to the ability to heal, and revive players, and be able to make med kits out of supplies.
I still wanna figure out a money system for the trading with NCPs. If you wanna add something post to this thread, but please dont say, "That is stupid, this game will never be made" because you obviously did not read the first paragraph of this post.
This game will also use some ideas from L4D2, but i didnt include much or any stuff from that game because we made this up last year before L4D2 was even a thought.
FPS and RTS since these genres fit the Wii's control scheme perfectlyArclight_Blue
This is soooo true, the wii has much more potential for RTS than an Xbox 360 and more FPS potential than a computer. More RTS!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that RTS (Real Time Strategy) games would work really good on the Wii, it would be more like a computer than other consoles and you could retain the left and right click (A and B buttons respectivly) it would be amazing!!!!
