Maybe people should find something better to put their attention to? No one is forcing you to buy this product, if you don't like it, don't buy it. I never understood why people flock to arms when a company releases a product like this. I loved Dead Island and will probably get this game too, but seriously, go find something better to do with your time. Amazes me at the things people get up in arms over. First music, movies, video games, the pledge of allegiance, god, etc etc. Guess we can cry about everything now huh?
Once again the ignorance is bliss. No one is stating people need semi automatic weapons. I could just as easily pick someone off with a rifle at 500 yards. The point being is the second amendment allows us the right to bear arms and can be taken in whatever context you wish. Point is, no one NEEDS semi automatic weapons to commit a massacre of this magnitude. He could've just as easily went in with two handguns and still killed the same amount of people. Semi automatic weapons can also be interpreted in many ways, as a handgun can be considered semi automatic, along with a hunting rifle, a shotgun, etc. People use those to hunt do they not? Fact of the matter is, if I want a shotgun, a handgun, a rifle, whatever to defend my property, my home, and my family, no one is taking that right away, regardless of how much you cry wolf. Once again, maybe some people should educate themselves a little more. Tobacco and alcohol kill more people as a single entity than guns do in an entire year. Maybe we should outlaw those, we saw how well that worked. Should we outlaw cars? Those kill more people than guns as well.
By the way, those supporting this senator are just as ignorant as the people who support trying to eliminate guns. His violent video game law was a joke along with every other piece of legislation trying to eliminate violent video games. These games have ratings for a reason, they are not intended for young children and parents should be held responsible for giving them access to them. They are rated as such because someone who is 17 years or older should have the mental capacity to know that the events in the game are FICTION and not real life. Maybe we should pass a law to eliminate stupid people. That would probably fix more issues than any attempt at further gun restriction or banning violent video games. That is another big problem in this country, too many people following the flames and picking up a torch to join the witch hunt. Salem anybody? Guess how stupid those people look over 300 years later. Sorry to say but guns are not going anywhere, current laws are more than sufficient to provide control over them and you will not be taking them out of the hands of law abiding citizens no matter how much you whine and complain. You have no argument valid enough to support it. Stop trying and educate yourself a bit more.
Once again, stupidty seems to rule when it comes to politics and attitude towards anything. Guns don't magically wake up in the morning and say HEY I WANT TO SHOOT SOMEONE. People are the issue, not video games, not music, not movies, PEOPLE. If Senators actually had to be educated on something, this country would progress to heights never before seen. Instead, they piss away tax payer money arguing that we need to spend millions and millions of dollars investigating this issue. The issue comes full circle to PARENTING. Anyone of average intelligence knows that video games don't cause people to commit horrific crimes such as these shootings. Guns are not the issue, but that is a completely different issue. Love people clamoring for gun bans and to tighten gun laws. Gun laws are already VERY tight as they are, many states do not allow concealed carry, some ban it outright, and you have to go through quite a bit to get a gun for yourself. When some kid takes a gun from his mother, there is the issue, stupidity and lack of proper storage. There is no one to blame but the shooter. Stop passing the torch and accept responsibility for your actions instead of blaming others. This child was a coward and it shows in his actions.
While at level 50, I did not successfully pirate any orange items, I found quite a few very good green and purple snipers and rocket launchers. I haven't fought the hyperion raid boss quite yet, but I'm pretty satisfied with it. I think I put 10-12 hours into a complete run through, maybe more because I spent some time running around looking for the booty. Great DLC and great value.
And last comment.. to the people actually analyzing this benchmark.. you are comparing the 3870, brand new card, to the 8800 GTX, which is almost a year, close to a year and a half in age, and ATI has managed to pull ohhh what? A measly 4 FPS on average advantage. That in itself is a VERY sad fact. The 8800 GTX is basically the last generation card for Nvidia, looking forward to the 9 series cards, while ATI's new card is a "next generation" platform and outperforms by 5%. Sorry to let you guys know, but ATI is not the new graphics card king when their next gen card improves by 5% over Nvidia's last generation GPU. Also, it is well known that Gamespot is EXTREMELY biased to companies such as Microsoft and probably ATI as well since Microsoft is in cohorts with ATI with their consoles, etc. So, I honestly wouldn't trust the intelligence level of the authors of the articles.
Oh, and another thing, to the people claiming Nvidia makes a **** or lesser quality card than ATI, Could you please show me some proof of the superior ATI quality over Nvidia? I'm pretty sure that I'm running air cooling in my box and keeping the GPU at 60C or less under full load. I have not had 1 lockup due to heat build up in my system. Any sensible computer builder would understand how air flow works and it is not THAT hard to have a extremely stable system without going to a water cooling solution. The only time you really need that is it you are overclocking, which with a high end rig really isn't necessary. So please, stop bashing the supposed quality of Nvidia cards. I haven't had one burn out or break other than my accidental breaking of the cooling fan. I had a 5900 FX running for 4 years before it was done and needed an upgrade. Provide me with some proof otherwise of Nvidia's suppose **** cards or please keep your mouth shut.
Can someone name me a game that absolutely will not run with Nvidia cards? What is with the **** claiming Nvidia makes video cards for specific games? They don't just to let you know, certain games are tailored towards on brand. Half Life was an ATI directed game, while Crysis/ UT2k4/UT3 are directed at Nvidia. And duh, a dual core card will probably outperform a single core card, posting benchmarks of this is virtually worthless. AMD + ATI will go in the trash if they keep this up. They are still at least a year behind both Nvidia in video cards and Intel in processors. Intel is set to release the next line of 45 nm CPUs this year + Nvidia is set to release the 9 series cards, which will further dominate AMD/ATI. So, take all your fan boy opinions away and look at the facts. AMD and ATI Cannot compete with Nvidia and Intel, haven't been able to for the last year or two. And as far as ATI giving a good product, uhmm, when was the last time you took a look at their driver situation? They have had **** drivers for YEARS and just went open source with them, which will in turn introduce a whole new source of error derived from developers, no offense, trying to fix the mess that ATI has created. If they would've taken the time to get some competent programmers to fix their crappy drivers situation, I'd give ATI a bit more respect. Nvidia has had solid drivers for years and I have little to no issues with them besides occasional problems, more so due to Vista, which I have uninstalled and now have no more troubles with.
