The game that has captured the most of my time this year deserves a mention. Approachable free-to-play CCG with notable polish.
Re-released on PS4 which allowed us to use the superior PS4 controller, in addition to an update that brought us player ghosts on the daily challenge. It has been a great year for Spelunky fans.
Combine Tony Hawk with a third person shooter using wacky Insomniac weaponry and you get Sunset Overdrive. It's solid gameplay and light hearted fourth wall breaking script remind us that video games can simply be a good time.
Dragon Age has returned with incredible visuals and storytelling as well as a great multiplayer mode which I will likely be sinking a lot more hours into over the coming months.
Impressive realization of the Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings movies with spot on voice acting and a powerful new game mechanic, the Nemesis system made this the best third person action game of the year.
