You know, if all of you guys think that your secession from Gamespot or your insurrection toward the Eidos/Gamespot authorities is going to have some kind of impact...

... you're right. But it won't have the kind of impact that you're expecting. You're actually giving Gamespot a lot of attention, and by extension, a lot of press.

Evidently none of you guys have ever heard the expression "any press is good press."

It doesn't matter if they did something unethical. They will get swarms of people coming to their site because of this move. That is NEVER a bad thing.

I can guarantee that most of you guys are only saying that you will cancel your accounts instead of actually doing it. Besides, even if you do cancel it, you'll be back within a month to resubscribe.

Just take a look at all the people who cancel their World of WarCraft subscriptions because they get mad and then they come back within 2 weeks, lol.

If you guys are actually naive enough to think that none of Gamespot's reviews have been influenced by advertising and money then you're fooling yourselves. Just think of all of the reviews that weren't written by Jeff. :P

Money influences everything, especially the things that you consider immune. We live in the wealthiest capitalistic nation in the world. If you think for one second that money doesn't have it's sweaty grip on the booming digital entertainment industry and it's journalists, you're living in a dream world, my friends.

Good night.

Hey folks.

I haven't posted on these forums very much but once I heard about BioWare and Lucas Arts announcing their "new project" it really piqued my interests. Since the last Star Wars MMO was ruined in many peoples' eyes, I really see this as a big deal. I was in the beta for the first Star Wars MMO and then I didn't buy it when it finally came out because SoE was behind it and I had a bad feeling about it. It turned out I was right, lol.

Anyway, I don't know how many of you have seen this yet but here it is if you haven't:

I am pretty excited over this news since, frankly, a Star Wars MMO by BioWare is the stuff of dreams. This may be the first MMO in a long time to actually lure me into paying the monthly fees for it. I haven't played a game like that since... well... the original EverQuest, lol.

What do you guys think of this news? Excited?

Or cautiously optimistic? ;)

I have never been more addicted to a game let alone an MMO than I was to the original EverQuest on PC.

When World of WarCraft came out, to me it felt like "Hmmm... I've played this game before, only it was called EverQuest and it was much better, more fun, and more addictive."

I played WoW for about a year until I realized that there was nothing really special about it.

I don't play ANY MMOs now a days simply because I consider them a waste of time and money, but if I were going to play one I'm not sure which one it would be since the original EQ got totally screwed by Sony when they took over.

Hey guys.

I am really looking forward to BioShock on the PC but I am still only using Windows XP and Direct X9 and I heard that you will only be able to play BioShock using Direct X10 and the 64-bit Windows Vista version, is that right?

In order to use Direct X10 you need to have Windows Vista, is that right?

Or will there be a way for Windows XP/Direct X9 gamers to play BioShock too and they just haven't announced it yet?

BTW there's no way to use DirectX10 on Windows XP is there? Like maybe a patch you can download or anything?

Thanks guys.
