This time around I am going to concentrate on two games that will probably have the hardest time coming to the VC due to various legal reasons.
Blast Corps. (N64) - I think only Rare could come up with a game like this. A runaway truck carrying nuclear material is on a course for destruction. It is up to you and your elite squad of personnel and machines to clear the way so the truck does not hit anything and obliterate a large chunk of the Earth. I can remember playing this game for hours. Trying to find all the hidden vehicles, crushing all the buildings, and lighting up the runway lights. I sunk way too much time into this game, but that was only the beginning. I later found out you could get platinum medals for each mission and that only fueled my love for this game even more. Since Microsoft owns Rare, I guess I can only hope for an Xbox Live Arcade release or a true sequel on the Xbox 360. Sigh...
GoldenEye 007 (N64) - Ahhh... the game that introduced me to first-person-shooters. This game was amazing! The level design, the objectives, the weapons, the music, the controls. This was one of the greatest achievements in video games. I used to play this for hours with my brothers. Nothing could compare to an all night frag fest with my brothers. Simply put, this is one of the most addictive games of all time! Once again, Rare made this masterpiece but they are owned by Microsoft. Plus, Activision has the rights to James Bond. I hope that Nintendo could somehow pull it off! Even if it would cost 3000 Wii Points, I would still buy it!
Until next time...
