What passes as "holy grail" ? theres always gona be games that ppl like or dont like. Its definately getting more good reviews than bad ones, considering it is from a genre which isnt as widely appealing as FPS's ( i enojyed games like bio shock and assasin's creed on 360 alot more than gears of war, but guess which game got higher rating?). I personally think that EVERYONE who has a chance must give MGS a try, whether they hate the genre or what, but just to see its production values. I think its dumb to say that MGS did not live up to its expectations, considering its genre, it has (from reading reviews and my own play time) done alot more than many other games have done for me, definately alot more than GTA4, DMC4 and burnout paradise. Hoping NGS2 would not dissapoint. (btw ign just gave MGS4 a perfect 10. Again, there are gona be ppl that call this game godly, and some calling it convoluted, like Gametrailers).

To your question. I'm looking forward to the jrpg's FF, White Knight and (hopefully) KH. Disgaea 3 looks good too. Theres also the unnamed project from Team ICO, Resistence 2, Killzone 2 (giving them a chance after they redeemed themselves in the psp version). People also tend to forget Infamous by sucker punch. I'm not too hyped for little big planet tho, its seems like a conceptually revloutionary game, but dont look fun to me.

Rent DMC4 and AC, They are both awesome games, but the steam sort of leaves you after playing awhile. I didnt really playthru DMC4 as much as i did DMC3, it lacked something, cant pin point.

AC is an incredible experience at the start, but after a few chapters, it sort of gets old, you could stop playing it for a few weeks and not be bothered by it.

Get Uncharted, the only game on PS3 that has made me go :o from start to finish. Resistence is fine.

[QUOTE="wiidog"]

[QUOTE="musclebound_meathead"]Okay so let me get this straight. Your mom has no problem with the fact that you can walk up to a pedestrian in the game and blast him with a shotgun or whatever, but she has a problem with sex? You know there is something wrong in this world when people have a problem with exposing their kids to sex, but not violence.nosferatu

She has problem with all of it but her biggest issue and mine also is with the sex.

Ahhhh, I love this country's puritan roots.....

In all seriousness, if your mother doesn't believe you are capable of handling mature content, don't get the game. I applaud her for taking an interest in the actual nature of the content and actually thinking before jumping to conclusions, I wish more parents would take this kind of insight towards their children's activities.

However, sex is not the only mature thing here. Neither is the violence. There is a lot here (from what I have seen so far) that requires a bit more worldly experience to understand and grasp. The themes and undertones seem as though many of them will be lost on less mature gamers. Therefore, this game is mature in content in lots of ways. If your mother believes you cannot handle one of those elements (in this case sex), I would venture to say that there are probably more you can't understand and perhaps should be able to in order to play the game.

AS AN ASIDE: Your response to another poster earlier was completely uncalled for. It revealed your immaturity. It also is illustrative of the formative/operative stage of your own moral development that you are at. In this case, you have not reached a stage of complex, abstract reasoning, but are more adherent to social norms/dictates without question. Granted, givenwhat I'd estimate your age to be, this is completely normal and where you SHOULD be, but it is also very illustrative of the fact that you are probably not able to properly digest the kind of content (and the inherent moral ambiguity that Rockstar has supposedly chosen to present) in this game.

For more info about what I'm discussing, look up Kohlberg moral development stages. I'm arguing that post-conventional level thinking is needed, but that you are still in stage 4ish conventional reasoning.

^^ Yes to all the crap he said lol.

[QUOTE="TheSystemLord1"][QUOTE="Coolboy420x"]

[QUOTE="TheSystemLord1"]Obligatory question...how old are you?wiidog

Obligatory response: even if I am 30 yrs old, I still wouldn't pick up prostitutes in front of my mom :-)

It has nothing to do with the question he's asking. If he is underage, and his mom gets it, and happens to hear the language/see what he's doing in the game then he is contributing to the government wanting to censor videogames even more. I don't care if he thinks his mom isn't like that, kids just like him are the reason Jack Thomas was able to take things are far as he did. Underage kids playing M-rated games is bad for the hobby and I wish it wasn't so easy for them to do.

For one you dont even know me so dont say people like me cause Jack whatshisface to do whatever he did. Some people like my family dont do and partake in certain things. If you and your moraless family do who and whatever thats on you. But none of you talk negatively to me because im not a moraless tramp. If u not here to answer my question than get lost.

I dont think you read his previous posts properly. His statements are directed at "if you" are at an age deemed unsuitable. Probably what your mum may think too. You didnt answer his question, so his statements were not 100% directed at you, it was for the hypothetical "underage and naive" you. And you went on insulting him without ever answering his question, so i'm guessing you know deep down that this game mat be unsuitable for ppl your age, but thats just my guess.

If he was moraless, he wouldnt ask you his initial question would he? Considering your mum actualy wants to know the contents of the game b4 purchasing it shows that she is concerned (hence a family of moral awareness), no one thinks you are a tramp.

To answer your question, i'm sure the sex system is like in previous GTA games, it doesnt just happen, you have to initiate it. However, if you get the uncut version, there maybe some questionable scenes.

If you are underage, it probably isnt for you. I do not know how mature you are ( i dont think the game will make ppl start random shoot outs on streets, but it will influence their attitude in some ways, a reason why i regret letting my young bro play violent / fps games in the past), but if your mum thinks its fine, then no one can stop you.

For some reason, i always "feel" the rumble whenever i shoot or if i stabbed someone :-s too much rumble since ps1 era i guess. But having gernades exploding whilst the controller is not shaking does feel funny tho (since i'm used to having rumble in the past)

[QUOTE="adam_53"]the station is built like a tank. ive always owned a sony console and my ps1 still works perfectly. short of throwing a ps3 i reallllllllllly dont think its like to break down, on its own accord because of internal problemsburiedanger225

I wish i could say the same thing about my ps1, it came a time that the only way my brother and I could play it was by putting it upside down. My ps2 finally gave out 2 but none of this stopped me from gettin a ps3 i just hope i have better luck.

Jeebers, i remember playing my ps1 upside down too :( It was such a pain.. until i had enough money for a second one :s

Put it this way, if you don't know what Linux is then you don't need it.meeks_jr

Well everyone's gotta start somewhere. And i just want to make full use of my ps3 (if i do find it useful). I didnt need the internet until i knew what it could do.. so yeah, same concept i guess.

Hey guys, i just bought a PS3 and was doing a little reading online, and found that you could install an OS on it. I was just wondering what would that do? And do any of you find it useful to have installed?

Thanks guys.
