I'm about to purchase a new laptop. Which windows should i install? Vista, XP or upgrade to windows 7?
Hey everyone.
Will be going to collage this year and I'm looking to buy a laptop that i will be able to run most games smoothly (empire:total war, counterstrite etc). Graphics isn't a major concern for me, more the FPS. . Don't know what to look for. Budget of £300-£400 (THATS ABOUT $500-$700)
Any recommendations. I live in UK

Ok so i have just about finished my pc. and i have gone against vista and i am lookign just to play it safe with the tested xp. alas, my friend bougth windows xp professional a while back but never used it(do not ask me why) and he still has the code for it. now dioes that mean i can just download windows professional ed~ and then if so, how do i get it onto my new pc? and ideas?
my god!! your stuff is way more expensive in the UK!!! anyway, It might be a good idea to save a little extra and get an 8800 GTS, but Im not sure if any DX10 only games are gonna come out very soon, so maybe you could stick with the 7900 GS.
BTW: I have windows vista home premium and Im gonna tell you, I wouldent pay 40 dollars for it. That's about 20 greater british pounds, windows xp is fine

lol ty dude for the vista info. Yeah ano its really starting to pi*s me off teh pricing. itd prolly be cheaper to fricken import it from over there. So would u suggest the 7900 GS over the 8600?
Does it not? in the title it says PCI-E?? does this not mean it has this slot?
