The Office, Supernatural etc...

So none of the actors from The Office won Emmy's. A shame. But still, they managed to steal the freakin' show from everyone didn't they? From the cute in character segments Rainn, Jenna and John filmed for Carell's presentation to Rainn's rap battle with Kanye to Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert's jokingly giving Ricky Gervais' Emmy to Carell - all of them show stealers. So at least that was something. I'll refrain from griping about John Krasinski not getting nominated. At least he should have a shot next year.

However, I will gripe about the fact that the guys from little shows like Supernatural will never get a second glance for award show season - which sucks because every week they put on a hell of a show. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padelecki have put up some fine acting the past two seasons but they will always get overlooked. Perhaps because they are on the CW, or perhaps because of the type of show Supernatural is, but regardless it's a shame. Kudos to both of them for continually putting up good performances even though their dimwit network execs decided to stick them up against huge shows like CSI and Grey's Anatomy, barely giving their show a chance.

No longer relevant...

How fargin irritating! After submitting trivia and notes on a couple of actors MONTHS AGO, I finally got messages back. Most of them were accepted, however, one of them was not. Why? The mod note said, "No longer relevant." And who the hell's fault is that?! Not mine. I submitted it back when it was relevant and if they had done their job and approved it in a timely manner it would have been relevant when posted. I call BS. =P

Small wonder...

After many months, and much abandonment of tv.com, I have finally moved up a level. =P And here I am posting a blog, but only because I am as bored as i've ever been. bah! There are only so many episodes of Spongebob that a Mom can sit through ya know. At least my son now has Zathura on dvd. Great little family movie, and i'm rejoicing that my Spongebob viewing has been cut recently because of it. =) Now, back to your regularly scheduled boredom.

jon-favreau.net

I've had a website for actor Jon Favreau for a couple of years. I finally got around to upgrading to a webhost and getting a cool url. It has an up-to-date filmography, an image gallery and a forum. jon-favreau.net

When did that happen?

Holy cow, I actually got some people CP's in the past few days. Not sure when, as I didn't really check my stuff the past couple of days. I still have 7 submissions waiting though, and of course most of those are for people. I am thinking about trying to resubmit some of the older things from August. It's not like they're actually getting to those, so maybe if I submit the again they will approve the new ones and reject the older ones? Just a thought. What is a little stinky, is that for Todd Phillips I do have a whopping (:|) 17 points now. But considering almost all of the info there was put there by me back at TvTome, including a nice career biography - I would think that would have been worth a bit more than 17. Apparently not. And it'd be nice if they'd actually approve some of the other things I submitted for him so that I might actually one day get close to being editor for him again. - grumble, grumble -

Thighmaster, scholastic books....

Oh yippee, thanks tv.com for reminding me of those blasted Thighmaster commercials. Danasdude pointed out my lovely new ranking, you'd think I would have noticed myself. I am glad to be moving ever so slowly through the ranks. At least it's something. Or is it? My little guy is in Preschool now and they've already started sending home the Scholastic book order forms. I'm so excited. I loved reading through the book titles when I was little, always disappointed that it was pretty darn rare for my parents to actually let me order a book from it. So I was very happy to order two items from them for my little dude this month. The first thing is a set of four books about trucks. My son is obsessed with vehicles of any type and was excited to see books featuring monster trucks, firetrucks, etc, so I felt compelled to order that. The second is the Usborne First 1000 Words book. Why something soooo boring and educational you ask? Wellllll, my little guy is as into words and books as I ever was. (Hopefully he won't ditch his schoolwork to secretly read non-school-related material like I always did. :|) He loves picking out words from the dictionary, reading names of places from the atlas and will read just about anything you put in front of him. He'd much rather have a book with words than one with pictures, though I believe this book has both. I have a sneaking suspicion that Scholastic will be making alot of money off of us over the next few years.

Double posts, little boys and planes....

I'm wondering if anyone else been having a problem with double posts. Everytime I post a comment in someone's blog in the past week it makes it a double post even though I submitted just once. Very frustrating. What? Somebody at tv.com being frustrated, how could that be?! :P I changed my icon for the next few days in observance of Serenity premiere week. :) I decided on Wash because his goofy one-liners always crack me up. And we all know that funny is good. My house is very quiet right now because my son has gone with his grandparents out of town for the weekend. He was sooooo excited. One part of me was sad that he had no problem leaving me, he is just four after all. The rest of me knows that it's just because he loves his grandparents AND they were flying up in Grampa's airplane - which made it even cooler for him. Meanwhile, my house is too quiet and I think i'm actually going to go switch my driver's license over to my new address today. Just so I don't have to stay here in the quietness by myself.

Not processing submissions...

Argh! This is getting really annoying. I've submitted several bits of information on several different people and/or shows and they are just sitting there. They have been neither accepted nor denied. I'm assuming it's because the people that i've been interested enough to submit info on are not famous, nor are they on popular shows. Not only does this mean that the information is being ignored, but also that I don't get any level credits. This because someone else is just busy handling submissions that they deem "worthy". Very irritating.

More tv.com system confusion...

Okay, so I don't understand what the Score thing below some people's names are. I don't have it, I don't know whether I should have it or if it's even important. I'm hoping someone on the forum will explain it to me. It's also very frustrating to submit people information and that info just sit there for weeks without being accepted or denied. What's the deal? I guess since they are not tv show guides they are not important here.

IMDb messageboards...a small rant

Good grief, I hate to admit I even post there. What is with people that they have to take the time to look up an actor or show/movie's messageboard on IMDb solely for the purpose of berating them and their fans? Get a friggen life already. Why not just go post on messageboards of things that you are actually interested in? If they were there to start an interesting discussion about what it is that others like and they dislike, that would be one thing. But it's hardly ever that way. It's the typical twelve-year-old sounding, "this actor sucks, you suck, i can't believe anyone thinks they're good" kinda bs that is extremely annoying. That nonsense keeps me away from there most of the time, but I like to look in and see what's being said about my favorites on occasion. And I even occasionally add a comment or two myself but I usually just end up walking away, wondering why I bothered.
