Got to see an early preview last night. Well worth it. Even though I love my out-of-this-world hero flicks it's really nice to get back-to-basics in terms of story. No super heroes, just a bunch of kids rallying against something bigger than themselves. Elle Fanning was a standout for me. It's rocking a respectable 92% on Rotten Tomatoes so far.

I quite like the "Create Your own Mutant" game they made for it but there should be other ways to unlock accessories than buying 5X gum, although I know that's the point. Meh.
Wholeheartedly agree. Every time Emily Brownings character started "swaying" I felt like jumping up and slapping someone.Suckerpunch. I liked the action and hot chicks but the story had me saying "what the f***?" the whole time.

I'm about 1/2 way through the title, and I really appreciate the steps Rockstar has taken to really make gaming for the adult crowd. No other game company puts so much on the line to move gaming forward.

Not trying to be a little b****, but I feel you are giving Rockstar way too much credit here. This is a Team Bondi game, Sony funded this for three years before Team Bondi went to Rockstar. Rockstar deserve some credit for funding this and putting finishing touches on it, but Team Bondi's created this game from scratch and they deserve most of the praise.
Again, not trying to stir up some s*** here but it annoys me that the game director/writer/creator Brenden McNamara/Team Bondi is getting zero mention. Whereas when The Getaway came out, he/his team was blasted for the game's issues, not Sony. Now that he's created an amazing game, HE should be the one getting credit, not Rockstar, a game company with a terrible record for storytelling in their games.
I went for a job at Team Bondi a year or two ago when they were desperately trying to wrap it up. At the time they were shockingly behind schedule and desperate to keep it going, for fear of the whole thing collapsing altogether. The turnover of staff was amazing, so many animators worked on it over the 5 or so years it took to complete. From what I could tell though, Team Bondi were central to keeping everything together so they deserve some recognition for that.
I'm enjoying it so far. Although I suck at driving, it's carnage as soon as I hit the road. Kinda love how you can run over people though. lol
To show or not to show.... In Jaws Spielberg fully intended to show the shark more than he did but it kept malfunctioning so he was forced to infer the danger instead. I think if the effects are good and they're used in context with the story, (like in Cloverfield) then there won't be a problem. It doesn't become an M night Shyamalan disaster just by showing the Alien... if it is an Alien. Super 8 reminds me of "The Mist" a little bit... REALLY can't wait.
I'm a bigger DC fan through watching like Batman The Animated Series, Superman the Animated Series, Batman Beyond, Justice League and Justice League Unlimited. But I've yet to buy any DC games. I own Marvel Nemesis Rise of the IMperfects and also Marvel Ultimate Alliance. So DC and Marvel are both essential to my life :Pwiifan001
Had Batman Beyond not been based on Batman The Animated Series I probably would have hated it but it just works. I'm really torn between DC and Marvel though. DC has Batman but Marvel have X-Men.... can't wait for X Men - First Class btw.
