Felt like a waste of time. Pretty much the prequel to the movie I actually want to see (Cap 3, I guess).

Best thing to movie did was get me to listen to some more Marvin Gaye.

Good looking list, OP. Just watched Fitzcarraldo the other day, pretty great film.

Bang-up list:

Apocalypse Now
Chinatown
Straw Dogs (1971)
The Godfather
Once Upon a Time in the West
There Will Be Blood
Star Wars (1977)
Taxi Driver
Touch of Evil
Zodiac

Game: Pokemon Red/Blue

Movie: Children of Men

CD: This is totally cheating since it's a set of 73 cds, but Europe '72 The Complete Recordings - Grateful Dead. If you mean literally one disc, then Live/Dead - Grateful Dead.

Cure (1997). Just watch it.

Wouldn't hurt to check out Kairo (Pulse) by the same director.

I'd also recommend Kill List.

If someone is threatening you with deadly force, at least in my state, you're not obligated to run away. You can stand and fight back. A fistfight can very easily turn deadly; it's really not that hard to kill another human being by punching them in the face--you knock them out, they fall back, slam their head on the pavement, and boom, they're dead. If someone attacks me, I am not obligated to only fight back in accordance with what they're using (in this instance, a person attacks with the fists, and I am free to use a knife or gun--I don't have to fight back with only my fists). But like I said, I don't start fights.

Did you assume that in the US, if someone jumps you on the street for instance, you're only allowed to defend yourself with your body and not a gun/knife? That's not how it works. As long as you feel your life is in danger, you can fight back as you will, though most people would be stupid as **** to try to take on a guy with a gun/knife.

Well that's good to know. I was under the assumption that the stand your ground rules only applied when you're in your own home.

Also, no, I don't assume that. However, I am under the assumption that simply having a weapon can diffuse a situation before it progresses. If someone knew you had a knife, would they really want to start/continue a fight with you? Considering that, I'm not really worried about you defending yourself as much as I am about you giving the other person to opportunity to back off. It didn't sound like you did from your original post. It sounded like you kept the knife concealed, then brought it out with the intent to kill after being assaulted.

I am a grown man; I don't get into schoolyard fistfights. Someone starts a fight with me, and I'll go straight for the kill.

How's self-defense going to hold up in that scenario?
