Two months after RIFT launches, many of us stopped playing due to lack of content. More precisely, burning out.
Now the wait for SWTOR begins. This is our last hope. This mmo will make or break the industry in the next few years. Mark my words.

Beta 6 is coming up in four days, 7 five days after that......RIFT will be launching on FEB 22, and my guild is set to go. Server firsts are ours!
Taking off seven weeks from work. Thats right, seven. So like previously mentioned, server firsts should present little to no problems. All RIFT betas have been perfect, no problems at all. The game is perfectly polished with pve and pvp in place allready. The game has multiple battlegrounds, and dungeons as well.
The game is certainly making an impression amongst gamers on multiple gaming sites, and should do rather well at launch. One month after, usually, is the making or breaking of the mmo, when most gamers decide if they will stay or unsub. For this game, my guess is 60 to 75 percent will stay. Ive also seen statistics based on forums posts etc, that those numbers should be approximately accurate.
Now, as they say, waiting is the hardest part. But come launch, this game will be taking off, with myself and my guildmates on board! Cant wait for the ride!
One month to go in waiting for TRIONs new MMO, RIFT. Have been playing this game since closed beta one, and its polished, and outstanding! The pvp and pve is spectacular, the graphics awesome, the combat smooth, and the lore immersive.
Also, the community is, on the whole, a bit more mature then WoW's, though thats not saying much. But alot of the gamers are coming from Everquest and other similar games. Theres a big roleplaying community base as well, which in my experience, translates to an overall better experience....
Cant wait!
While looking at the different mmos available at this time, and burning out on WoW two weeks after the expansion, the choices we have in the genre are rather old now.
Of course, theres Everquest 2, Aion, EVE, Warhammer, Vanguard anda few other ones. But having played those for awhile, I cant find myself going back to them anytime soon. As gamers, we need a better selection of mmos, ones that have higher quality.
2011 should give us those new games, but in the meantime whats a mmo addict to do? After looking around, Im going to head back to Age of Conan and see how its going these days. And if that doesnt work out, I think ill stick to console games until RIFT comes out.
Will update on AoC soon.....
After hitting level 85 a few days after the expansion released, ive ran all the new dungeons. Ive ran the rated battlegrounds and have seen the new areas.
Im allready bored with it.
WoW did an ok job with it, but no matter how much you add to it, its basically the same game......More or less.....Im done with it...
Been away from Gamespot for a month or so, and stopped playing Aion. Had a great time with it, the pvp was fantastic. Due to real life, wasnt able to play for awhile so I kind of fell away from it.
Now that World of Warcrafts newest expansion is almost here, I will be switching to that on Dec 7th. I have the feeling this will be Blizzards last expansion before its popularity starts declining. 2011 is going to be a HUGE year as far as MMOs are concerned. With SWTOR, RIFT, GW2, and a few others, Blizzard is going to lose alot of subscribers.
Now that being said, Im going to focus on this last expansion knowing it will be, personally, my last with WOW. I loved the game for many years, but the content is beyond old. Even with a new expansion, thats only going to take people so far before they experience the all too familar feeling of burn out.
Before that happens, Im going to try and view it with a fresh eye, roll a warlock goblin, play the new rated battlegrounds, and level up either my mage, hunter or shadow priest to 85..Cant decide which yet.
So, ill be checking back in after launch to give a few updates on what I experience, and look forward to doing so...Peace
On a rather quick note, pvp in the abyss is going well. Its alot of fun and the battles are truly matched. Very little of either side zerging.
This game has been enhanced so much since launch, I cant say it enough. If you get a chance, PLAY IT. Its worth every single cent. Of course, pve players only need not apply. Hardcore pvpers only :D
After having played for approx a week now, I can safely say the population is large enough to support gameplay thruout all the different levels. This was one area I was worried about in starting after the release of the expansion, but proved to be baseless.
Having just hit level 24, im flying thru the levels at a pace thats surprising. I knew the devs had updated the mechanics in leveling, but actually seeing it implemented is relieving. At the original launch, the leveling process was the main reason I walked away from the game at level 39, it proved to be too close to work. Now, its fun, and at a pace similar to other mmos.
Im almost at the point where pvp will start, so im looking forward to seeing it in its current state. At launch, you couldnt enter the pvp area without being killed within five minutes. It was horrible, no fun at all. And that sentence right there is a whole area of debate in the official threads, along with rifting. NC Soft is currently gathering player opinions on rifting by ingame surveys. And that is definitely a proactive approach.
Will update as I enter into the pvp arena and Fire Temple dungeon....
Been afk from Gamespot for awhile now, and recently came back. To stay, heh. Just got a sub to Aion, the online game from NC Soft that released a year ago.
The game recently had its first expansion go live a few weeks ago, Assault on Bal...Being a former Aion launch player who stayed for two months, I can say with finality that NC has made the game the way it should have been at launch. From updating rifting to expanded endgame content, this game is at the forefront of MMOs.
Ive only been back to Aion for three days now, and will keep updating this as I progress thru the content. So far, the lower level content is alot of fun, the UI fantastic, and the atmosphere beautiful. The community helps when asked, and being on the Vaizel server, theres a good balance between the factions, at least as far as I can tell....
Will update soon...
Recently started playing this game ( yeah, I know) and for the past two days, its been absolutely sick. What an amazing game.
The online play is not only addictive, but immersive as well. The sounds and atmosphere contribute in such a way that you actually feel your in the midst of battle. Amazing. I had originally purchased this game when it came out, but due to other games/console and MMOs, I couldnt get around to it til a few days ago.
Im steadily ranking up and im at approx Master Sgt level. Ive had a couple of kill streaks up to seven, but I die a hell of alot more then kill. Though I will say im getting ALOT better. Ive heard that theres alot of hacking/cheating in this game, but have yet to see any. Im sure since im a beginner, its harder for me to see them cheating. Its hard enough to keep up with the action itself.
Cant wait for Black Ops to release in Nov....
