[QUOTE="Ninja_Zombie83"]

[QUOTE="MethodManFTW"] argue? i'd rather have a discussion...Cyb0rg360

If you want to discuss this topic, I would suggest you look into something called "game demographics" which states that people ARE predisposed in their game choices by age and gender. As a matter of fact, the ESA publishes this information quite often and the gaming industry uses it as a guide for which audience to target and what will sell.

Our textbook "Game Development Essentials" by Jeannie Novak, states that although associated with a discrete age range, members of each generation as a group have experienced particular historical events and climates (economic, cultural, social and political shifts) during their lifetimes. Therefore, they likely have developed a particular set of beliefs, attitudes, and values. This is known as cohort analysis which states that people of a certain group do not neccessarily change over time.

For our friend born in the Boom Generation (1943-1961) games with a social, spiritual or political message cater to his/her age. So games like Tabula Rasa, Star Wars etc. cater to this type of player. So in this aspect, Nightfall would probably be right in his assumption that older people just don't dig pvp games, but I agree with MethodMan in that it was anpretty rude way to go about asking the question.

Honestly, Nightfall created his own assumptions and then saw an opportunity to prove to himself that it was correct. People do this all the time. It's just like buying into a stereotype and then ONLY looking for the behaviors that justify the stereotype. It is self serving. What's the saying? Assume makes a

Stick to the topic and stop with the personal assault...Have a great day!

Just imagine what Barry would have done if he had an O-line, OMG!

Image if he didn't run backwards so much, OMG!

Most of his big plays were a result of him doing just that. More often than not, he gets the big run. That's why he has the highest YPC average over a career in NFL history and it's how he got 2000 on a 6.0 average. So I'll take a couple of losses if he gets the big run in the end. Besides that, his o-line didn't open holes for him. Had he not gotten in open space and created his own running lanes, he would've accumulated numbers as ordinary as any run-of-the-mill running back. That's what makes Barry Sanders special. His ability to create his own running lanes. There aren't a lot of backs with that much vision along with the speed to make those lanes.

This guy knows his football......Listen to him..... After years and years of watching Sanders, you started noticing things. One of which he would get shut down time after time after time behind the line of scrimmage, then blast a 13 yarder etc. He needed mutiple chances to create his lane.

Props Frostybanana, nice to see someone that knows football.....friend invite incoming...

BTW, on topic, personal favorite was Wilbert Montgomery, played for the Eagles late seventies, early eighties. But for the topic Tony Dorsett.....That boy could run!....

[QUOTE="MethodManFTW"]so much is wrong with this post....MethodManFTW

Its my opinion, and im entitled to it. If YOU have a problem with someone expressing their opinion in a thread where its relevant, maybe you should lighten up a bit. A bit sensitive ? :D

no... I am 22... lol calling someone weird for discussing their hobbies is just ignorant... Saying people are predisposed to like playing against other people based on age or sex is incorrect.. That is nothing innate in age or gender that will make that decision for you.

I disagree. One hundred percent. But I feel no need to argue with a kid......Peace!

[QUOTE="Nightfall31"][QUOTE="BonlyOne"]Well in about 28 days I'll be 59 years old, playing games for about 25 years.MethodManFTW
WOW! A 60 year old playing games and posting in forums. I can certainly understand gaming at all ages, but as far as posting, that seems a bit, um weird? But, props to you for staying young at heart. I will say I dont think you pvp at all, am I right? I have a theory that older gamers and female gamers, IN GENERAL, dont like to pvp. Care to comment? Would love to hear if you do pvp....

Obviously, this wont be Blizzards last expansion, but in my opinion, it WILL be their last one being the 800 pound gorilla amongst MMOs. I will be playing on Dec 7th, and look forward to doing so. Going to roll a lock goblin, level a 80 to 85, do rated battlegrounds etc.

BUT, even with the new content, it will only be a question of time before that old feeling of burnout sets in. Two months? Perhaps a bit longer/shorter? With 2011 being a MONSTER MMO year, Blizzard will lose alot of subscribers. Now Im not saying they wont still be amongst the top few games, but they will no longer be King of the Mountain. SWTOR, RIFT, GW2, and a few others will be the catalyst.

Im going to try and play Cataclysm with a fresh eye and attitude and look forward to the new content. Personally, it will be my last expansion with World of Warcraft. Its been alot of fun, but it grows old, oh so old, even with new content...

Anyone else having thoughts of this being their last dance with Blizzard?

I think the OP needs toidentify that which he is most interested in. Is it pvp, pve? Do you like raiding/doing dungeons, do you like to do battlegrounds, open world pvp? Do you like to craft>?

Or, does not having pvp matter to you at all? Obviously to some, it doesnt. But in order to give a good recommendation, you need to catergorize that which is important to you. Older community, younger, does that matter.....etc....

Otherwise, we are recommending games blindly.
