Man the difference between demos and early access/betas is so big. In order to play a demo you just download it and play it - done. In order to play early access you need to pay some money to test the game for the devs.Betas can be accessed free but you have very small chance of getting in.
A game could have good marketing and still have mystery about it.I remember seeing Borderlands for the first time. I thought to myself "Meh, its a shooter with comic graphics, might give it a try thoug". Week later this game consumed me. I did not expect the humor, the story, the various quests, the fun of coop with friends , the guns, the areas, etc. The game showed some gameplay but left enough surprises for the game to be interesting.
Now a bad expample of bad marketing is Watch_Dogs.This game showed off EVERY SINGLE gameplay feature that it had, it revealed the main character, his motives and by time the game came out I already knew what it was. There was no mystery, no surprises and when TotalBIscuit showed how horrible the pc port was I didnt even buy it.
@alley3zonme how does that answer my question....when did I ever asked where are the females.... I know there are a lot of women playing actual video games but I dont know how many exactly since the stats ALWAYS include the mobile "gaming", the facebook "gaming", etc. I would like....sony or microsoft...or nintendo or ubisoft or hell even EA to post some of their gaming stats. Because everyone can play the pre-installed Angry Birds on their smart phone, but only a gamer will spent hundreds of dollars buying a dedicated gaming device (PC or a console, even a handheld counts) or at least USE one.
