While I own Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Echoes of Time for Wii and DS! Im gonna break it down in personal reference so here we go.

*Graphic Quality (Winner Wii Edition)

I know the graphic are the same in both FFCC:EOT editions, but the Wii edition looks nice on my samsung 32" (on 480p settings) because it's a bit more sharper and has better color saturation. Compared to the DS edition it has a smaller screen, less sharper, and less color saturation. In general both versions look great anyways!

*Sound Quality (Winner Wii Edition)

The Wii edition of FFCC:EOT has fantastic music and sound quality on my samsung 5.1 surround sound system. When you hear it on any surrond sound system you hear all the instruments, bass, etc. Compared to the DS Edition it has less sound quality and limited maximum volumn.

*Control Quality (Tie Wii/DS Edition)

The controls in FFCC:EOT are great and it's also base on whether you look the DS controls or the Wii/Nunchuck controls and Classic Controler. I found both Wii/DS editions easy and comfortable to use.

*Screen Navigation (Winner DS Edition)

The screen navigation on the DS edition is easier because... The DS edition doesn't require you to minimize or maximize the dual screens. The Wii editon makes you minimize and maximize the screen in many aspects and that can be very annoying

*IR Pointer Controls VS. Touch Screen Controls (Winner DS Edition)

It's simply alot easier to navigate through menus, changing magic spells, changing characters etc. though the touch screen than the IR pointer. The IR pointer is not bad but it takes some time to get use to it.

Total: Wii Edition: 2 Wins & 1 Tie DS Edition: 2 Wins & 1 Tie

In the end... In my personal opinion I like the Wii edition more because slightly shaper, and more color saturated graphics. The music sound incredible on my surround sound system, and once you master the dual screen minimize and maximize navigation along with the IR pointer controls then you see why I like this edition more!
*Once again it's up to you! If you want better graphics, better sound, and doesn't mind it being non-portable then pick up the Wii edition. If you want better screen navigation, better controls on touch screen than the IR pointer, and loves portability then pick up the DS edition.

How can GBC games be DSi exclusive?

I meant there will be Nintendo DSi hybrid/exclusive games like the GameBoy Color "ERA"(meaning time period) because GameBoy Color also had GameBoy hybrid/exclusive games. Hopefully you know what I mean this time around!

[QUOTE="ColdfireTrilogy"]Why get the DSI. Only a few games will come out "exclusive" to it as 90%+ users still will remain with their DSlite and Phat .... i assure you no one needs 2 cameras. The only cool thing it has going for it is the better wifi and online shop... they did a speaker test and it is negligible in hearing differences and the screen size isn't anything mind blowing as its still the same resolution. I still think the ds lite is a better deal.riariases
Yeah man, the DSi vs DS Lite discussion thread, about %60 of DS users are upgrading from their Lite. And already the DSi has sold over 2 million in Japan and has so many pre-orders on Amazon.com alone that its classified as the best selling gaming device in history. Plus when I went to pre-order my DSi, EB Games only had 4 more DSi's left for their upcoming shipment. Most stores are already sold out even though they don't even have them in stock yet!

Once again!?... My buddy riariases is right (AGAIN!? lol) because Nintendo DSi is gonna be the new hotness! If you guys honestly think the Nintendo DSi is not worth it (because you probrobly can't afford it LOL... just kidding lol) or it's not gonna sell (because your a neanderthan who enjoys crying about its GBA-less slot and enjoys living in the past then living in the present.) then you are one sad individual... Who enjoys living under a rock!?

like the title said, i just bought a nintendo ds lite BLACK(is beautiful) along with mario kart ds, chrono cross and other games.

as a ds owner, there are tips or things i should know about my new little thing? like how to play online or something like that

btw i have a wireless router, can i play online? where i get my friend code?

thanks

Cobalt_Spartan

Heres something you should know. YOU MESSED UP(unless you didn't have $200.00 to spend)! The DSi is coming out April 5th! Thats only 4 days from now. The Lite costs $129.00 to $139.00 depending where you live. The DSi costs $169.00 to $199.00 depending where you live. If you've got the time and the money, I suggest trying for a refund(and if they give you store credit, just put it towards the DSi) and if you decide to do that, make sure they have DSi's left for pre-orders or it will be hell getting one on release date, especially if you're limited to one retailer because of store credit.

What's your problem? It doesn't matter that he got a Lite, that's why they're still being sold-so you can choose!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If a game has a wifi logo on it (blue circle with "wifi" on it), then that game will allow you to connect. When you connect, you'll be able to generate your own friend-code. Where you can find this code depends on the game, but they'll always show you where.

Relax Cobalt_Spartan!? My buddy riariases is actually doing the right thing because the OP is gonna miss out from Virtual Handheld and DSi exclusive games...

Okay so in another forum, it was stated that the Club Nintendo announced a Virtual Console for the DSi. Considering they're making the DSi like a portable Wii, with the channel system and all that stuff, it would make sense to make a Virtual Console covering portable games for the DSi as well. Anyways, i'm really hoping to see some NES and SNES games on there as well because I find alot of GB, GBC and GBA games to be way outdated.riariases

Riariases! I find that interesting that you find GameBoy,GameBoy Color (excluding GameBoy Advance) games to be way outdated when Nintendo, and Super Nintendo games are too!? I mean... I respect your opinion but... Don't most of us revisit retro gaming because it's nostalgic or it makes us remember all the good memories of us, enjoying this fun game in the past. When we get that nostalgic feeling!... We wouldn't even remember or even care if it's outdated because that retro game surprisingly make us feel like we're enjoying that experience the same way we were enjoying it 5-10 years ago!

Yes I heard the same thing but quite different! There will most likely be Virtual Handheld for the Nintendo DSi, but not Virtual Console!. Rumors say the there will be GameBoy, and GameBoy Color, but Sega might consider releasing GameGear along with the Virtual Handheld service too. The reason I said that Virtual Console will not be for Nintendo DSi is because Virtual "CONSOLE" is soley suppose to be for Nintendo Wii. If Nintendo DSi had Virtual Console then that would that would fracture the products (both Wii and DSi) and that would defeat the purpose of having Virtual Console on Nintendo Wii now that you can get it for Nintendo DSi. All I'm saying if Nintendo would bring a retro service to Nintendo DSi then it would most likely be Virtual Handheld, since it would consist of GameBoy, GameBoy Color, GameGear, Linx, NeoGeo Pocket, and WonderSwan!

A few things you need to understand:

1. The DS Lite will not drop in price due to the DSi's release as the DSi will not replace the DS Lite. The DS Lite will be sold along side the DSi for the next few years.

2. Nintendo decided to ditch GBA compatibility back in 2006, when the idea of the DSi was conceived. The GBA slot was never in the DSi's original design, but another DS game card slot. I know not why they wanted two DS card slots, but for space, weight and size reaons, the slot 2 was removed.

3. The DSi's camera is more than good enough for the DSi as the resolution of the image is 2.5 times larger than the DSi itself, let alone the screens. The smaller resolution does not mean the image is lower quality, just that it is smaller and takes up less space, the same goes for the camera. Cameras with higher resolutions are larger, take up more space in the device, and cost more. Any attempt to have a larger camera would be wasted effort and money.

4. The DSi's screen resolution is the same as the DS Lite(256x192). The DSi's screen may be larger, but it is still small enough to where a difference in quality will be unnoticeable.

5. The DSi IS capable of better graphics, but it's nothing noteworthy. Since the DSi's screen resolution is the same, that alone limits the the overall quality to slightly better than the DS Lite. On top of that, the CPU may have been increased, but the onboard GPU was not, as it was not needed to support the new features. Without an upgraded GPU, the DSi's graphical capabilities will only barely be able to surpass the DS Lite's due to a slightly higher poly-count.

6. The DSi Shop is for software that Nintendo wouldn't be able to sell in stores. The games are simple and will not be anything like Phantom Hourglass or Kingdom Hearts (refering to quality). Yes, Wario Ware was released, but that game is not technically straining, and was made to show what good use of the DSi's new features is like. Future DSi content can not be expected to transend that game by much at all.

7. The DSi is the largest upgrade ever to be seen in a gaming system while remaining in the same generation. Actually, It's the largest upgrade for a gaming console in general, generation or otherwise. Stating that the DSi is hardly an upgrade is an out right lie.

8. BRB with more info

JLF1

So right there is everything you need to know about the DSi. I think you deserve a round of applause. Anyone who wants to complain about the lack of upgrade from the DS Lite to DSi now has no arguement whatsoever. So... I guess theres nothing to discuss... hmm...

There you go again. Claiming that people who don't think the DSi is anything special is morons who can't think.

These are the reasons why I will not get a DSi in the near future.

1. The DSi is both wider and longer which will make it even more clunkier than the DSL already is.

2. No GBA support, I don't care if Nintendo had planned this a long time ago the fact is that the DSL has a GBA port and the DSi don't. This is a clear pro for the DSL. That the idea that Nintendo migh sell GBA games from the DSiWare store exists so that Nintendo can milk me out of more money by rebuying the games I already own don't really help the lack of the GBA port.

3. Price. The DSi cost where I live just a couple of dollars less than a Wii or an Xbox 360 which IMO is far too much for an upgrade when the real deal is just around the corner.

Dude... Stop being a hater...Seriously!? Last time I checked this is not System Wars, but this is Nintendo DS forum. If you don't like the Nintendo DSi then cool, but don't try to ruin the hype for millions of people who want it!

Actually, It's the largest upgrade for a gaming console in general, generation or otherwise. Stating that the DSi is hardly an upgrade is an out right lie. Updates within a generation normally only consist of cosmetic changes such as a smaller casing or maybe slightly increased specs to run its software better(PSP). The DSi was made from the ground up. the only thing that remains the same is the concept(2 screens, one being a touch screen- all encased in a clamshell), the DS card slot, and the ARM7 33MHz processor at its root.

Side Notes: CPU Is the processor. GPU is the graphiKs processiNg unit, what in a cOmputer Would be called a video card. The DS is too sMall to hOuse a physical video caRd so the GPU is built in to it's "mothErboard".

That's all I can tHink of so fAr, but I thiNk just about everYthing is cOvered. Until the DSi is released, I don't think it is necessary to reveal any more info, be it that there's anything left to tell.

freakbabyblues-

1. I don't see what this has got anything to do with it.

2. I don't care when Nintendo droped the GBA support, the DSi don't have it but the DSL have. This is a plus for the DSL.

3. My mobil has a much much better camera and is much much smaller than the DSi.

4. This might be true but doesn't this stop this from really being any update? Why have a bigger screen if it's not going to do anything?

5. This is true but if any dev tries to use that extra power they will devide more than half of the DS userbase as their customers.

6. We have no idea what Nintendo will sell in the store so all we can do is speculate.

7. To claim that the DSi is the biggest update in gaming has to be the biggest lie in this thread so far.

GBA to DS? N64 to GC? PS1 to PS2 to PS3?

1. That's the info people have been bickering about 2. This has been explained. 3. No, the camera is not better. Yes your phone is smaller, but the camera is much larger. Size does not determine quality. 4. The bigger screen is a prize for choosing the DSi. It's not much, but you'll be glad you have it. 5. There's hardly any extra power to be used. This has been explained. 6. Nintendo has stated their intentions for the store already. 7. The DSi has the greatest number of changes ever seen from one system to another. See, discussion about the DSi can continue as long as people like him, who base their entire knowledge off speculation(and/or lies), plague the internet. I know a great deal about Nintendo, the DS, the DSi, computers, engineering, and a little about business and marketing. This info is true.

Man... Another person who earned all my respect!? Some of that infomation you stated that I didn't even know. Thanks for posting that information because you made me more hyped for my Nintendo DSi light blue that coming on April 5th
