Dang, it seems like I only put up a blog post every month. Well, this one's gonna be contenet packed so you better grab a soda.
I just saw the Speed Racer movie, and I actually liked it. Sure the stiory needed a bit of work, and the villians are kinda cheesey, but the racing scenes and crashes were absolutly spectacular. What many of you don't know is that I'm a Speed Racer fan. I've watched it since I was two, hell, I watched so much back then that my parents could sing the theme song on command. Fanatics aside, the Speed Racer movie wasn't too much liked, critics panned it for some odd reasons and others. BUT there was a game released for it, and critics gave it an overall of a 7-10! Since when have games been based off movies been good? Since Sidhe, the puzzle racing god, developed the game. So I've come to this theory: Good movie = Bad game, Bad move = Good Game, Bad movie = Bad movie still = Bad game if someone crappy is working on the game.
Speaking of above, has anyone noticed that SEGA games are REALLY crappy these days. I would proceed with cautions when buying or renting anything SEGA related, especially the Ironman and soon-to-be-released Hulk game.
Blast works. I've never been good at shooters, never lasted more than 5 minutes in any of the R-Type games, and the thought of playing the new Bangai-O game scares me. But I'll probably get the new Blast Works game becuase of it's sheer customisability and online download page.
WiiWare. Is anyone looking forward to this? I can only pick two games out of the whole list that I really like; Dr.Mario, SPOGS Racing and Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People which I'm mildly interested in. The rest is utter garbage. Looks like WiiWare will be off to a slow start. I'll post up a new blog tommorow once I'm done play testing the games.
Please comment and thanks for reading! :)
