Why would a third party developer want to be ona single console for when there are 2 other consoles on the market with a bigger install base? It's the other way around if you look at it... developers are trying to BECOME third party.

I would wait a bit on the 3DS. The PS3 has quite a few exclusives coming out, plus tons you've missed over the years. I'm sure your aware of the multiplatform games comes out / released since owning a 360. Tell your friends to get a PS3, let them come over, check it out, play all the games for it and hopefully they'll scoop one up as well. Plus you'll can play over the net for free.

3DS is going to be big; I hate to say it, but it's true. The line up of games it has is impressive and hell of a way to kick off a new system.

We don't know much about Sony's PSP2, so there isn't much to talk about other than the fact a few(?) developers have there hands on the handheld. Sony needs to bring outsome heavy hitters to put a ding in Nintendo's 3DS with titles; such as, FINAL FANTASY, GOD OF WAR, GRAN TURISMO, GRAND THEFT AUTO, KILLZONE, LBP, LOCOROCO, METAL GEAR SOLID, MONSTER HUNTER, MORTAL KOMBAT (PS360 Version), MOTORSTORM, PATAPON, RESIDENT EVIL, RESISTANCE, SILENT HILL, SOCOM, STAR OCEAN, STREET FIGHTER, SYPHON FILTER, TWISTED METAL, DUKE NUKUM, VALKYRIA CHRONICLES, WHITE KNIGHT CHRONICLES etc.

I think if half of these titles were to release on launch day it'll make some noise. With a more power device, dual analog(?), touch screen(?), trophies(?) and maybe a mass of PS1 releases for the PSN would be a dream come true... and a $199.99 Price tag :P

I think alot has to do with production cost. Small Japaneses studios and even Sony don't want to take the risk.

It's all about "Shooters" now-a-days and "online" gameplay.
