I was coming close to 24 hours non-stop Oblivion when my 720p projector bulb burnt up.
It was the first week that game was out and I was playing it on 120" screen. You know you would have done the same!
You need two 8800gt in sli for crysis on full settings or two 8800gtx/ultra
two 8800gt in sli is cheaper.

my suggestion is to disable dx 10 and play it in dx 9 mode.. dx 10 offers a very low quality to performance ratio over dx 9 ... see the crysis screenshot comparison on gamespot for urselfammusk
I have a 8800gts 320 and it runs better frame rates in DX10 (shader level very high). I thought the comparison was for people who had DX9.c cards. The 8800gts 320 is a DX10 card and doesn't need to be hacked to play in DX10 mode.
I use these settings-shaders,object amounts,water,and particles at very high - shadows at medium - everything else on low - 1280x768 no AA and get a frame rate rate between 30-40
Go to the NVIDIA Control Panel and use these settings;
Anisotropic filtering - Application-controlled
Antialiasing Mode - Application-controlled
Antialiasing Trasparecy - None
Texture filtering Quality - High Performance
Vertical sync - Force off
All you can do now is overclock your cpu and gpu, I overclocked my cpu 15% and gpu 20% and got a score almost 25% higher.
Vista can hurt your score 1000 to 2000 points.
Ahh ok so what do you mean by optimized? like more accurate?

I read something about how it was tested and made with a new intel processor that gets released two days after Crysis. Crysis was made for quad core processors. watch video->http://www.madshrimps.be/vbulletin/f22/new-intel-penryn-quad-core-processor-runs-crysis-nicely-35138/
