ATI is already at 55nm. I have no doubt these "specs" are fake. They are just marketing specs anyway and in no way indicative of real performance.

You need to try "The Witcher" demo before buying. It is a very "hate or love it" kind of game.

....I can't find the edit key on this forum.....

Moreover NVIDIA & MS are still working hard on fixing Vista game performance, but if Vista will overtake WinXP performance anytime soon is anybodies guess.

Ow dear, that is a tough one. Windows XP is easier to hande for a beginning computer game player. Performance wise XP is also better than Vista with SLI in Crysis. So overall your experience will be better with XP. However, Vista has DX10, which in your case is interesting in the future. Moreover NVIDIA & MS are still working hard on fixing Vista game performance, but will Vista overtake anythime soon?

A person called FrenchKiss made some very nice benchmarks to better get a graps of hte situation: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=244531

On another forum I read that Mass Effect won't be ported till all 3 parts are released for X360 :x

RE4 wasn't such a bad port (after you install all the fan made patches).

When someone quotes someone from MS saying "it isn't coming to PC" it usually means: there aren't any plans to make a PC version out of the game at this very moment.

Clive Barker's Undying

Clive Barker's Jericho - Never played it, but it;s free on Gametap

gotcha455

I know a few Undying lovers that claim Jericho is unworthy of the Clive name :x

I personally prefer Jericho over Undying, but Jericho is more action oriented, whilst Undying is more adventure oriented.

But there are Undying & Jericho demo's.

Gawd no, I hated that game. It started out so well, but went all downhill from the moment you had to run from your chamber chased by the people. Those clumsy controls......

I enjoyed Cold Fear. Mostly action with a horror thema.

I also enjoyed Parasite Eve I & II on PS1, which weren't FPS, but nice horror shooting games nevertheless.

If you/bittorent opens too many connections at the same time, the router "dies", which is easilly resolved by resetting it. There are a few good routers out there that support many open connections at the same time. I believe tomshardware or anandtech did a review of a few once.

If your router really is dying (does it smell like burned electronics?) they are overheating and I would think you'd have another problem then just Bittorent.

I forgot: it is likelly you can tweak the connection settings (nr of half open connections, connections oppened per second, max number of connections etc) in Bittorent to prevent a router from jamming, and you should tweak those of Windows XP as well (if you have it). For Vista, I wouldn't know. It has advanced TCP autotunig which you can disable, but I dunno if you should (need to read up on my Vista skills)....
