Basically, Torment feels more like an interactive book than a computer game, which is quite a feat. Sure, it has combat and all, but the game is far more deeper than that...Like Arcanum, you can beat the game by talking your way through it (with the notable exception of the unintelligent creatures :D) Heck, if you enjoyed Arcanum, I am almost sure that you will enjoy Torment.
I will leave with other Black Isle fans to give you a rundown...But know this: You won't regret playing it. :)
