@BuyaPC: There are plenty of reasons, eSports games for examples, they could use it as an HTPC or they can just build a cheap one now to access the incredibly larger and diverse library that the PC has and then upgrade later on as they see fit. It doesn't always have to be a competition. While PC has the benefit of higher graphical fidelity, it always comes down to the games. There's always a fun game to play on any rig that you can build today.
I think 9/10 was a fine score, and I think Carolyn's opinion was valid and legitimate. But if it had any relevance on the score (as it was listed as a detriment, but we can't be too sure) then I think that's slightly questionable. I think the opinion itself was not out of place and it does fit well in the context of reviewing a medium of entertainment that's almost considered a form of art, but it's just something thats a bit of a grey area in my mind.
