Personal Update Time: What I've been up to...

So it's been a year or so since my last update, so let's see what I've been up to and other stuff.

It looks like the end of the line for MXC, as they haven't done a new episode in over a year. I don't know if Spike will renew as thgere's enough for a five day a week stringout as it were, and the DVDs will continue soon.

As for truly yours, I now have another Windows XP from Dell that my brother gave me before they moved. The old Windows 2K compy is now being used by my mom for game playing. As the Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends editor, I'm sorry to see the series ending as well. It has been a great six years, but I wished that other shows like Juniper Lee would have continued as well.

So it's almost been a year...

All right, I admit I'm still busy.

Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi and Juniper Lee look like they've both been cancelled, the controversy on the recasting of the Pokemon voice cast has settled (except on cosplay.com and Pokemon themed boards) and I just became a uncle for the third time.  Otherwise, busy.

In addition, my old computer fried, and I'm using a Windows 2000 comp.  S-l-o-w.

Eddie Guerrero dies at 38

If you haven't heard, WWE SmackDown! performer Eddie Guerrero passed away this morning (11/13) in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the age of 38 due to heart failure while brushing his teeth. As a result, the RAW and SmackDown shows this week will serve as tributes to Eddie with cross-promotional matches, a fitting tribute to a man who ironically cheated death and stole life. And it would not surprise me one iota is that his cousin Chavo Guerrero, Jr. drop the Kerwin White gimmick for good and go back to being himself in honor of Eduardo Gory Guerrero and wrestle for his honor from here on out.

MXC Guide re-formatting complete

So, I haven't posted a blog item in a while, but with good reason. I've taken over as editor on the MXC section of the site, and have officially completed the re-formatting on said site to bring it up to speed with other sites here at tv.com. That being said, I'm looking forward to next week, and MXC's new episodes.

Went to the Puffy AmiYumi concert!

I went to the Puffy AmiYumi concert tonight (08/20/05) at the TLA here in Philly. And lemme tell you they R-O-C-K-E-D the house. I even met the real Kaz in person. He's not at all like the one on the show.

Busy, busy, busy...

I've been busy here this week. I'm adding, correcting and merging stuff, writing a few reviews of Foster's episodes, and other things. I'll be catching up later this week on other things, so be paitent.

Guess what "Jumped The Shark"?

TV Guide. Yes, that venerable icon to television guidence has nof officially did what one Authur Fonzerelli did at Paramount Studios in an episode of Happy Days. No more localized editions, meaning those who compiled the weekly schedules for Azauza, Anaheim and Cucamonga among other places will soon be looking for new work. Instead, only two editions - one Eastern and one Pacific - will be printed in October and the magazine will be more articles, less listings (national only). And it will not be a digest format, but a standard 8 inch wide by 10.5 inch tall version with a price cut of 50 cents per copy to $1.99, and circulation will be cut by two-third. Can we blame then web, VCR/DVD-Rs and Tivos? Maybe. I decided to discontinue the subscription as of now because of this. If they had wanted to do a magazine, they planned one called "Inside TV", but that was the harbinger of what happened. I wish some company - maybe Time Warner or even another major publisher like Disney - would try to rival this new format with an old fashioned book with full listings, not grids.

At least they're getting there

Slowly but surely, the site is getting updated. A couple of changes I saw on the Foster's page were an set-up for a scene and a corrected quote for Cheese in "Mac Daddy" have been put online. Stay tuned, there will be more to come likely soon.
