To any mind, it's better to have a wonderful gameplay along side a great story. But in video games, as stated in the article, gameplay alone can help a game to become a masterpiece. While in movies, novels, plays... etc, it's not! Story is fundamental. Now are video games a good medium for story telling? I believe yes! maybe not as good as books or movies, but still a good medium to deliver a good story. MGS, Half-Life, FF, Tales series, Fallout, RE... etc are good examples. Luckily it's all mentioned in the article, but I'm agreeing with Mukherjee. Also Pratchett is right, developers must give more time on the stories so that they will come with an ideal game. Professional story writers can have a great hand in making video games a better medium for storytelling.
