E3 2012.. Is it over yet.. *sigh*

..And thus ends yet another E3 with little more than a slight rumble.

Microsoft's press conference played out like an all too familiar musical that you've seen a dozen times over. They had plenty to talk about, however most of it involved hardware and features best left for shows such as CES. The games were plentiful but were already revealed prior to E3 and are 3rd & 4th sequels to the same old franchises. Don't get me wrong, I look forward to Halo 4, Forza and a few XBLA games. But M$ is playing it entirely too safe as this generation of consoles winding down.

Sony was the victor to me.. at least by default. They showed a number of intriguing titles that will keep PS3 gamers entertained for a long time. I'm VERY interested in seeing how Allstars Battle Royal and The Last of Us turns out. However, I'm not intrigued by the likes of Beyond. I've had my share of movie esque titles *Looking at you MSG4* for this gen. I'll take a title with a bit more interaction.

Nintendo is.. well... Nintendo. They had new hardware to show but failed to showcase ANYTHING worth dropping greenbacks on.. At least IMHO. Never been a huge fan of Pikmin and Zombie-U, while interesting, doesn't seem to have the "pull" that would tare me away from the likes of Left 4 Dead or Resident Evil. I REALLY hope this thing is under $250 or it will NEVER have a place in the snapitz household.

3rd parties saved E3 this yr.. if nothing else from being a complete disaster. Assasins Creed 3, Splinter Cell, Tomb Raider and of course watchdogs All raised an eyebrow for me. Great 3rd parties are probably the single most important factor in me sticking with the consoles for this long... Next gen who knows.
