i cant see that doing any harm to sony or the ps3..daveg1

Well, I can't speak for everyone, but if a few more exclusives come to the 360 which I already own, then I will likely never have reason to purchase a PS3.

With the popularity of this game, it seems to be a deciding factor for many potential PS3 buyers.

Good.I would love for the PS3 to phail...AtomicBaconBits

Why do you want PS3 to fail?  If they do, then the other companies don't need to compete for gaming dollars ,Wii/360 will not have as many features and the next gen systems will be nowhere near as good.

Firstly, I understand why so many people are up in arms over this.  And they have a right to be.  Sony certainly isn't dead yet, but they are on the ground and bleeding.  If current media and gaming trends continue, we may see ALL PS3 exclusives on 360.  If PS3 does indeed fail, then Sony will be looking for ways to recover at least some of thier money.  Obviously, they would port thier 1st party games over to 360 and likely the Wii.  Although I'm not sure there is anything gamers can do to stop it except convince as many people as possible to purchase a PS3, I believe the current petition is self defeating.

There are 2 possibilities:

1) They change thier minds and make DMC4 exclusive again - This would be a huge financial loss for them and they may discontinue the franchise all together.

2) They do not change thier minds.

In either situation, PS3 looks very bad.  I realize that petitioners are using the civil defense excuse for their reason for signing, but to the public it looks like a desperate plea for survival.  I believe it is sending a message to the gaming community that this exclusive loss is close to a final blow to Sony and will further thier problem with bad press.

The only positive thing I can personally think of as a means for PS3 fans to fight for Sony's survival is to simply stop concerning themselves with any 360 affairs and to only discuss PS3 strong points.

My X360 froze and I did a reset. System still didnt work so I turned off console an let it cool down. Fortunately it still runs. The system is unreliable an MS knows this, hence my 3 month warranty. But MS increase warranty to a year.

The fans are loud, hence spinning to fast. Seems to collect dust too much. The last gen dvd drive spins to fast increasing wear an tear faster. The large power brick is located outside far away from the console yet the system still overheats. This is a poorly built system..and I dont want to mention no futurproofing whatsoever thats another topic.

Hmmm, sorry if that really happened, but somehow I doubt it after reading all of your other threads.  I'll have to take these threads with a grain of salt unless gamercards are posted.

I know old 360's might have a higher than norm defect rate.  I can't believe everyone is making it up.  However, I know many of these threads are people that are afraid of thier other investments not panning out for them.  Sorry if your not one of them.

All I know is myself and the 5 friends who bought launch systems have had no problems.

I swear, today is almost making me ashamed to be a gamer.  It is an excellent game and it seems to be comparable to the versions on the other systems.  Go buy it, enjoy it and stop worrying about what others think of your version.  You'll quickly forget about minor advantages or disadvantages while playing and I'm sure shimmering Isles will be available eventually.

What if Halo 3 and Halo Wars went on PS3 and FF13 and MGS4 went on 360.We all know this won't happen though

What will you do?

Ravens1995
Not sure that's an equal comparison. Halo franchise is owned by Ms. FF and MGS are not owned by Sony. But, to answer your question. I would just keep my 360. I really want Sony to get some good news soon. I just wanted them hurt... I don't went them dead. That would be bad for everyone.

If the PS3 had XBOX Live (except called PS Live or somthing) with exactly the same features, achievements etc, would that influnce your descision on what console to buy.

It would for me bacause the only reason i would get an XBOX is XBOX live and the lower price tag. So without XBOX Live there would be no reason to get an xbox.

Maybe a little.

Now, if they were to make blue-ray optional and drop the price $200, then they might be on to something.

Can we even call this news?FoxHoundADAM

Hehe

Well, not to kick Sony while they're down, but Sony's CGI movies made news at E3-05 when they showed what they wanted.

And, uh, no... I don't think this is news.  Sorry TC.

except a bundle like that would be more than $600

Uptown

I don't think its that far fetched.  Only about $110 under current retail.

Also, both companies could split marketing costs.

Just thought it might be an interesting marketing idea. (especially for x360 in japan)

Curious if anyone would be interested in both systems if bundled together at a lower price with 1 or 2 games?

For sake of argument, x360, Wii, Gears of War and Wii sports for say $600?
