The personal attacks are way out of line. but there is a certain amount of wonder that I get seeing a reviewer point out that all the women within the game are just shallow caricatures of women. when in fact the men are equally as shallow caricatures. the deciding difference in which of those caricatures were playable is the fact that I will part with 60$ to play it where as my Girlfriend will not.
tldr
... you can distill men down into senseless violent killing machines and that's not sexist at all. but if you misrepresent women then the game has failed its societal duty to cater to women's vision of themselves?
I don't think you'll be a first stop for game news for me anymore not because of your score but simply because your review seems to miss the point of satire and its usage in the GTA series.
its also interesting that you would mention women being relegated to the margins by this game. when you conveniently for the gamespot management score minority points without them having to hire a female (see. someone who has menstrual cycle) to take the lead on such high profile reviews
You shouldn't be reviewing this if you don't understand that being politically muddled is a feature not a drawback of a grand theft auto game. I can appreciate your unique insight into gender roles and issues. but I feel perhaps incorrectly that this game and its review in particular is not the place for your soapbox moment.. that is to say that removing the absurdity and political incorrectness from this game kills the essence of what it is.
