I had Resort reserved, and was thrilled to pick it up on Sunday afternoon. I just have to say Nintendo is doing an awesome job keeping their focus on creating fun games. That is really what I love about Resort, its just plain fun to play. From the strategic sword play to the amusing quirks such as the sounds of gamers playing super mario from the cabins on island flyover, Nintendo has won me over once again with their follow up to Wii Sports. As a guy with a decreasing amount of time to play games due to a busy work week, Resort is perfect for a quick game that leaves me smiling.

Smile

Take a look and compare the expressions that appear on the faces of the men and women who create the games you have come to love. What did you find? A straight face? A hollow smile? My favorite example of this, is Miyamoto. In every photo, every video, he's always got a huge smile. This is something I feel shines through in the projects he's involved with. I'm happy when I play the games he's created, and I think that's because his attitude has transcended through his work, into the games and is plastered on the faces of the player's. Can our dispositions really be that powerful?
