It's been quite some time since I last bought some form of a gaming console. That's not because I'm a rather cheap person but rather I'm looking and planning for the right system. I have this habit for all purchases I make. Now I feel it's time i make another purchase. This time I'm plan on getting a portable one for many reasons. I haven't given up on consoles it's just I have less time for chilling at home and playing some games.
I'm not actually new to the video game world. In fact I can say that I'm about a 10 year veteran (or even longer) At first, I was brought up loving Nintendo. I played my sister's Original game boy (yes..that HUGE grey one) and also her purple game boy color. My father is rather young so I have some memories of watching him play Super Mario bros on the Super NES. The more I got older the more video games I got into. I remember when I got my first N64, for Christmas I even wrote about it in class.
It wasn't always about Nintendo....
My father also owned Sega and Sega-dream cast. My favorite game of course was Sonic. I remember playing countless hours collecting coins, only to have lost them when I ran into a spike. However, I can't really say I got into Tomb Raider (sorry)
When Sony came out with their PS1 more good times developed. Though I never owned a Playstation, I've played it quite enough to seem like I owned one. I really started to get into RPGs Final Fantasy VII and VIII, and others (ie. killing in Grand Theft Auto) And when the PS2 came out I knew I had to have one (but of course it was pricey then) Eventually I got it well, it still works to this day.
I know soon my PS2 and GC will die on me leaving me left out of the loop until...a purchase a new system, which brings me to the fork in the road. PSP or NDS, I've been raised on Nintendo and I own Gameboy Advance, SP, and micro(micro which was to replace my SP until I found it...*sigh*) Or PSP which tends to lower the price of game after a while unlike another company I know, I'm not going to point fingers(PSP =good graphics...YES I know that graphics don't make the system but the games on the system) They are both fun to play, but I can only afford one *snif*
Which will it be??
On another side note :These companies really need to STOP the madness of re-releasing the same system, why can't the release them ever like 5-10 years like their consoles? Doesn't this cheapen them, and make me think how long do they expect their handheld to last?
This is why I'm a sucker for video game entertainment....
