If you pick up one of the newer model 360's on the shelves today, you will probably wind up getting the newest "Jasper" chipset. It has a 65nm chipset and is supposedly much safer then before (Less RROD). However, if you dont want to shell out the $ for the new system, i actually suggest opening the system and fixing it yourself (X-Clamp Replacement). I had my 360 from launch, it RROD about 2 weeks after the 3 year warranty was up, so i decided to try to save some money and order the screws to get rid of the x-clamps. The whole price came out to about $8 and i had a working 360 once again.
