For those asking for power requirements I'll give you the ones I know. The 8800 Ultra needs a minimum of 500W The 8800 GTX needs a minimum of 450W The 8800 GTS needs a minimum of 400W The 8600 GTS needs a minimum of 350W The 8600 GT needs a minimum of 300W (350 for overclocking) Edit: The 2900XT needs a minimum of 550W

@Jerian I'm running vista. Games are awesome after you go through all the crap of toying around with drivers. So, you heard wrong about the games, but you heard right about the crappy drivers.

I have an XFX 256MB 8600 GTS XXX Edition (Overclocked) on one setup and it works super fast and fine for me. I have another XFX 256MB 8600 GT XXX Edition on another and it workes great also. I see no need to spend another 200 bucks on a video card when those already run at full settings.

That memory clock isnt that impressive. An 8600 GT XXX from XFX has a memory clock of 1600 MHz.

Oh yeah and about the other comment you made down the page, why would we care about the PS2 when we are talking about the HD era of gaming (PS3, Xbox 360) the PS2 was last-gen and will burn off soner or later. The PS2 is cheap and still has some good games along with great ones from its run so thats why people still buy it.

chamber why would YOU spend 600 dollars on a system that is still using blu-ray 6 years later. Sure laugh when you see that but think about it... 6 years from now, even the PS3 could be way outdated. We all know technology changes at an extremely fast rate. None of us 6 years ago knew that what we have today would be available as it is. So it is definitely possible that within the ps3's lifespan all of this could be meaningless because of some new technology thats better. BTW did you know that the PS3 GPU is actually based of of an older one? While the 360's is based off of technology that still hasn't been released yet? Oh, and they have 1080p games too. I fell into Sony's ploy, preordered a PS3, took it home.. And I couldn't stand it. After playing it I was amazingly disappointed so I faced a choice. Either I let it sit as a paperweight while my 360 gets all the glory or sell it. I obviously sold it. And another fact for you is that A newer 51 GB HD-DVD disc will be in production this year, manufactured by Toshiba. HD-DVD even uses a more advanced mandatory lossless audio format than blu-ray. I'm not saying this as a fanboy (believe me I'm not. I used to be a sony tool) but having experience with both systems id have to pick the 360. And saying that over 100K ps3 units have been sold to people that don't play games means nothing to the gamers here, just that the ps3 is nothing more than a cheap blu-ray player and because of that they will lose the GAMING war. I guarantee you that most people on this website are buying systems for games, not movies.
