[QUOTE="PandaBear86"][QUOTE="PannicAtack"]Eh. God of War's okay, but we don't need clones of it.heysharpshooter

So your saying that God of War should be the only game in its class, and no copmpetition is necessary? I say competition is needed. Darksiders and Dante's Inferno should hopefully do a good job with that :)

God of Wars compettiton is Ninja Giaden, Devil May Cry etc. Games that feel and play differently. Darksiders I think will flop, but I don't think its a clone. It looks far more original. Dante's Inferno is a clone, period. Its more of a shameless rip-off than Conan was.

Conan was really fun, even though it got 7.5-ish ratings. Darksiders is made by the same developers (Vigil) but Darksiders and Dante's Inferno look far more polished than Conan was. Should get much higher than 7.5, thats for sure :)

Why do people continously bash Dante's Inferno for being a God of War clone? Just because it is unoriginal doesn't mean it deserves loads of criticism. Why is it that when a new FPS game is released, nobody ever bashes it for being a clone of Halo, Call of Duty, Killzone or whatever else. Yet as soon as Dante's Inferno shows up, everybody is screaming "what a shameless rip-off! How terrible! Shame on you, EA!".

If you played any FPS game within the past 2 weeks (apart from Doom or original Wolfenstein) youinstantly lose your ability to call Dante's Inferno a shameless rip-off because that FPS game you were just playing is a shameless rip-off previous FPS games.Call of Duty is a shameless rip-off from Medal of Honor. Section 8 is a shameless rip-off from Halo. Even in other genres, Forza is a shameless rip-off of Gran Tursimo. See what I did there? Apart from Spore, Wii Fitor DJ Hero, there are hardly that many "original" games nowadays, since everything has already been done before. Dante's Inferno is not original, but judging by the gameplay demo it looks like a real gem. And thats the most important part. I'd rather play a fun clone (Dante's Inferno) rather than an original game thats boring to play (Wii Fit). Agree? :)

You guys can lose sleep because Dante borrowed a few ideas from Kratos, but the rest of us will soon be enjoying a great game. Thanks for reading:)

Its called setting atmosphere. I think using a war oriented game is a terrible example. What would Killzone 2 look like with vibrant color? Less immersive.

Blue-Sky
Brown creates a boring atmosphere imo. Perhaps *some* brown is okay, but not excessive brown like what was in Spec Ops. I'm not sure if KZ2 is post-apololyptic or not, but adding some mild color couldn't hurt much.

There are no vibrant colors in a war zone such as the one fround in Spec Ops ... so adding "vibrant colors" would make it unrealistic.

In real life, holding a knife in your hand doesn't make the sky turn brown. It remains blue, believe it or not.

PS3 version = slightly better graphics 360 version = play with a controller that fits in your hands and isn't a SNES controller with palm-grips Hmm... hard decisions.

Has anybody seen the new Spec Ops screenshots? There is NOTHING but brown in that game. Brown grass, brown trees, brown sky, brown water, brown everything. Why on Earth did they do this? Oh wait, let me guess, its because its a "violent" game and adding a tiny bit of color will transform it into a kids game like Mario Party or Viva Pinata. Pfft, yeah right. I mean, will these people even give us the option to re-enable color in the game in the options menu like Gears of War did? Probably not.

People need to understand that putting realistic color does not make a game kid-friendly. Ever played BioShock, Dead Rising, God of War, or Ninja Gaiden? Those games had crazy amounts of blood and violence, yet they were still very colorful. Does the color transform them into kiddy games? Hell no. Its a sad shame that so many developers dont understand this. Even the Halo Reach screens looked dull in color, despite the previous games having glorious color. In my opinion, the only games where brown is suitable are post-apolyptic games like Gears of War and Fallout 3. Brown is okay AFTER the world has already been destroyed, not before it.

Thoughts? Are you tired of violent games abandoning color? Or do you like the brown skies and brown water etc?

Isn't it funny how there are so many "Final" Fantasies? Reminds me of how the word "Ultima" means last syllable in a sentance, or last in in anything, yet there are NINE core games in the Ultima series with many other spinoffs. I guess this means "Last" Remnant will be the next Franchise to get loads of sequels.

[QUOTE="SpruceCaboose"][QUOTE="TalesofRaGnArOk"]

And supposedly everyone in Japan already has a DS, but they keep on selling anyway.

And cheapest version of 360 (I think) is 170 USD - but that's the bare-bones arcade version

hiphop_quotable

There are three different versions of the DS, not including colors and other styles. Don't underestimate hardware revisions on sales *points at the slim PS3*.

*points at the psp go* :P

PSP Gois a hardware alternative, not a hardware revision. Revisions are designed to completely replace the previous models, which the PSP Go was never designed to do.

Who cares if it is a blatant rip-off? I am happy that Dante's Inferno is a clone of GoW. The closer it feels to GoW, the better. For the record, there are almost no original games nowadays (apart from Spore, etc). Everything has already been done before. Look how many FPS games there are nowadays, yet nobody ever says "wow, another Doom clone". You have a Halo avatar, yet don't mind Halo being a blatant rip-off other FPS games that came before it? Oh no Halo is a Doom rip-off because it is an FPS game that features space marines. Halo must be a terrible game because its unoriginal! Yeah right... If Dante's inferno is a rip-off GoW, than that is a GOOD thing. As long as the game is fun to play, I couldn't care less where the game was inspired from.
